Chapter 125 - Third Holy Mission

Day of Monar, 7:21 a.m.

Temple of Priests Private Compound, Luxen City.

Tch!

Vivian clicked her tongue.

It's still not open…?

In front of her was the Apothecary Shop located. Before coming here, she took a bath at the female dormitory and then had breakfast at the cafeteria. And even though her hair was still wet, she had the hood of her Brown Cloak pulled up, covering half of her face.

I really need to buy makeup…

I think it was called a concealer…?

Or skin toner…?

I really don't know…

As a 24-year-old man back in her original world, Vivian has never worn make-up. The closest thing she used was powder on her neck and back, and that was done to her by her mother when she was still a little boy to keep from sweating too much.

Come on…!

Where the fuck is that fucking stupid shopkeeper…?!

Why does this shop open so fucking late…?!

I still have to go to the Mission Room for the teaching and feeding Holy Mission…!

Fucking stupid and lazy people…!

***

7:34 a.m.

Vivian was still standing outside of the Apothecary Shop and there were other people as well -- two White Cloak Priestesses who were in their 20s and two Brown Cloak Priestesses who were in their teens.

The two White Cloaks were talking to each other while the two Brown Cloaks were talking to each other.

Although none of them were talking to Vivian, they all greeted her with a smile and nod earlier.

Tap, tap, tap…

Vivian placed her hands on her hips and was tapping her feet.

Ugh…!

Please kill me…!

This is taking so long…!

It was then she noticed someone from the corner of her eye.

A White Cloak Priestess in her mid-30s with glasses was heading their way. And when she got close, the two White Cloaks and two Brown Cloaks greeted her.

"Good morning, Sister Willow," they said and gave a slight bow.

"Good morning, too, sisters," Willow said and gave a slight bow as well.

Willow took out the keys and all five of them began helping to open the shop.

Huh…?

What's going on…?

Are they just helping or do they all work at the same place…?

In the end, Vivian decided to just wait on the corner.

7:55 a.m.

Vivian entered the Mission Room where the members of the Temple of Priests can apply for Holy Missions.

Her face and neck were covered with powder and her lips were painted with red lipstick. Meanwhile, the rest of her body was covered with a pair of black sweatshirt and pants, and a pair of brown leather gloves, belt and boots.

And as for her cloak, she bought two new ones from the Tailoring Shop.

Damn…

So many people…

By her estimate, there were at least 20 Priests and Priestesses.

She turned her gaze to the counter where Ezekiel sat.

He was talking to another Priest and there was a line of 12 Priests and Priestesses waiting to talk to him.

Vivian let out a sigh.

So much rushing and waiting…

And then joined in the line.

8:13 a.m.

A Brown Cloak Priest who was talking to Ezekiel turned away and left, and Vivian quickly stepped forward.

"Brother Ezekiel, good morning, I'm here for the Feeding and Teaching Holy Mission."

"Good morning too, Sister Vivian. You were applying for the Feeding and Teaching Holy Mission that will be conducted in this city, correct?"

Vivian nodded.

"Yes."

"By the way, sister, I've heard about how you saved a family and killed 3 demon-worshippers and captured 1 demon-worshipper. Congratulations."

"Thanks, brother," Vivian said and flashed a smile.

Eh...?

How did he know...?

So Joshua is the loose-tongue type...?

But he doesn't appear that way to me...

She recalled Robbie pulling the carriage around the city with her walking beside it.

Well...

To be fair...

That was quite a sight...

So I guess that's where it came from...

I honestly can't see Joshua being a loose-tongue...

"Sister, this is just my personal opinion. Since you're a Brown Cloak and don't have any Class Magic yet but you have the capabilities, wouldn't it be better to participate in the feeding and teaching program that will be conducted outside the city? The pay is higher and the people that you will be easing the pain and suffering of will be greater so you'll be able to learn Class Magic faster," Ezekiel said.

Is that really how it works…?

Vivian recalled what the personnel back at the Temple of Thieves told her about learning Class Magic.

Hmm…

I've healed and helped a lot of people both inside and outside the city and I still haven't learned any goddamn Class Magic yet…

She then recalled what Pana told her about choosing Classes.

But then again…

Pana also said that choosing a Class isn't about how popular or profitable a Class is, it's about a person's personality…

I also have the [Nemesis of Beasts]…

FURTHERMORE….

I have [Greater Origin (Greater Chaos) Mastery]…

Yeah…

I don't mind playing the role of a pious and outstanding Priestess…

But I think this isn't a great idea…

I have to stay low-key…

"To be honest, brother, I was just lucky. Since I'm only a Brown Cloak and also wearing a Copper I Rank pendant, they went easy on me and I was able to take advantage of that."

"I understand," Ezekiel said and nodded. "Do you still have the token I gave you?"

"Yes."

"Go to the Training Grounds. The participants for the Feeding and Teaching Holy Missions will be gathering there. Just show that token to one of the Instructors."

"Thank you, brother. May the God of Light continue to watch over you."

"May the God of Light continue to watch over you as well, sister."

Training Grounds.

There were more than 50 Priests standing in the middle of the field under the bright morning sun. There were only White and Brown Cloaks, but most were White Cloaks. And when it came to their ages, the White Cloaks were in their late teens and up, while the Brown Cloaks were between their mid and late teens.

Vivian knitted her brows and swept her gaze around.

Okay…

Where is the Instructor or Instructors here…?

She approached a White Cloak Priestess who looked like the same age as her.

"Hi, excuse me, sister."

"Yes, sister?"

Vivian took out a token.

"I was told by Brother Ezekiel to come here for the Teaching and Feeding Holy Mission which will be conducted within the city and I should give this to one of the Instructors. Are you one of the Instructors?"

The Priestess shook her head and waved her hand.

"Oh no, I'm not one of the Instructors or Group Leaders. But if you're looking for the Group Leader that's in charge of the group of conducting the Feeding and Teaching Holy Mission in the city," she said and then pointed to a White Cloak Priestess who was a couple of meters away. "You should give that token to Sister Melissa."

Vivian turned to where the Priestess was pointing.

There were two White Cloak Priestesses talking to each other.

One was a slightly overweight bespectacled woman in her early 30s with short and straight blue hair. Meanwhile, the other one was a woman in her late 20s but with a normal weight and short black hair.

"The one with blue hair is Sister Melissa and the one with black hair is Sister Xena," the Priestess said.

"Oh, I see," Vivian said and then turned to her. "Thank you, sister," she said and smiled.

"No problem, sister," Priestess and smiled back.

Vivian made her way to Melissa. But when she finally reached her, she stopped about 10ft away and waited.

I don't want to interrupt them…

A few moments later, Xena, the Priestess that Melissa was talking to, turned away and left, and Vivian immediately stepped forward.

"Excuse me, sister. Are you Sister Melissa?"

"Yes. And you are?"

"My name is Vivian. I was told by Brother Ezekiel to come here if I want to participate in the Feeding and Teaching Holy Mission that will be conducted within the city," Vivian said and showed her the token. "He also told me to give this to the Instructor."

Melissa sized up Vivian from head to toe, especially her face, and then noticed the Copper I Rank pendant around her neck.

"Is that an Adventurer's pendant around your neck?"

"Yes."

Melissa took the token from Vivian's hand.

"Is this your first time participating in a Feeding and Teaching Holy Mission?"

"Yes."

"How are your reading and writing skills?"

"I can read and write."

Melissa turned to a group of Brown Cloaks nearby.

"Sister Lily."

One of the Brown Cloaks, a female in her late teens with green hair, quickly turned her head and then rushed over to Melissa.

"Yes, Sister Melissa?"

"This is Sister Vivian. She will be in your group and have her study the talking points for the teaching segment."

"Yes, sister," Lily said and then turned to Vivian. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Sister Vivian. I am Sister Lily," she said and smiled.

"Likewise," Vivian replied with a smile.
