Chapter 65 - Chapter 64

[Llyne's side]

"Hmm... I don't see any monsters so far..." I scratched my head. 'Did I hear wrong?' I looked around and said in odium. "The only thing I see here are these fingers like jelly dancing around like seaweeds underwater. I feel like I've seen it somewhere before, but I don't recall it. Hmm... Though if you see it another way, it does look like sausages. Smooth-skin slimy sausages. Yuck!" I stuck out my tongue. Suddenly, I remembered Iz reading a book and telling me about it. "Ah! Right! If I remember correctly, these things are called villi. These villi have blood vessels in them and aid in absorbing nutrients." I stayed silent for a moment. "Erm... They won't try to absorb me, wouldn't they?" I gulped nervously and shook my head. "Stop thinking nonsense. Out my head, you go!" I leaned forward and sighed. "I'm bored. Why aren't there any exciting things happening, huh?" I leaned on my back. "I wonder how Rona and Ronald are doing? I hope they're doing fine without me. Without Isaac, I would become their sole guardian. Uh-oh. But I'm here, and they're out there. Crap! I need to get back to them quickly!" I started paddling faster.

Little did I know that I was already surrounded by those monsters when I entered the small intestine.

The monsters inside the small intestine are terrifying and deadly creatures, lurking in the dark. It may be small, but its razor-sharp teeth and venomous 3 pointed spear make it a formidable foe. As it moves through the small intestine, the monsters feed on the nutrients and fluids, absorbing them through their mouths. Its slimy, mucus-covered body allows it to move quickly and silently through the villus, making it difficult to detect or avoid.

Whoosh!

I was caught by a surprise when some monsters jumped out from those villi and attacked me ferociously by throwing their spears at me from all directions. I dodged and weaved, trying to avoid their tridents as they stabbed at me from all sides. I quickly grabbed a sword and defended myself.

Clang. Cling. Clank. I could only parry their attacks as I was struggling to maintain my balance standing on the treasure chest.

As time passed by, the digestive juice got more forceful, and I could feel like the juice was rushing towards one direction. There was also a heavy mist, which made it harder to see and breathe. The sound of the juice splashing around the wall of the small intestine was deafening, making it hard to hear anything else. I tried to see what was in front, but the wind was too strong. It was blurring my vision.

Suddenly, a deep growling sound echoed from deeper within the small intestine. The monsters were startled by the sound and immediately dispersed, leaving me alone to face that unknown monster. I gripped my sword and was ready for face, whatever monster that blocks my path. But what was waiting for me wasn't a monster. Rather, it was a fall of death.

As the treasure chest drifted the edge of the waterfall, I could feel the horror and excitement jumping out of my heart. The juice around me was turbulent and choppy, with waves crashing against the sides of the box. I was swinging from left to right, making me dizzy. I could hear the roar of the juice falling downwards, growing louder and louder as I drew nearer.

As the box drew closer, I stretched forward and saw something unexpected. I could see the mist rising up from the bottom, creating a dreamlike haze. The juice around the box became rougher, with the currents pulling me closer and closer to the edge. "Oui... The path is missing! Ack! Wait a minute... The juice is falling downwards... Uh-Oh." I dropped my sword and gripped the treasure box firmly.

Suddenly, the box slowed down. The box rocked back and forth as it wobbled on the brink of the fall. The back and forth motion made me a bit sleepy as it reminded me of the time when my Ma used to rock me to sleep. I laid back in the treasure box, relaxing my body when a sudden rush of motion, the box went over the edge. I yelled for my dear life and closed the lid. "This isn't how I imagined I would end my life!" With a loud splash, the box hit the juice at the bottom, sending waves crashing out in all directions.

It was silence once again as the box forgo the fall. I slowly opened the lid and crawled out of the box. I hanged over the box and sighed deeply. "Oui. I lived to see another moment." I placed my hand over my hand. "Oui... My heart was going to pop any moment when I fell from that height. I doubt I'll ever forget this moment." Then, I grabbed the paddle and quickly paddled out of the small intestine.

Splash. Splash. Clank. Clink.

After a few frightening falls, endless paddling, and exhausting fights with those trident monsters, I finally escaped the small intestine. However, my journey with my long sword ended as it broke from the last fight. "That's some journey. Who knew there's so many monsters in the small intestines. It must be because all the rabbit eats are all junks. When I see Rona, I better give her a good spanking on her butt."

I continued paddling forward, and the treasure box glided through the calm juice. I looked around, keeping my guards up in case for any enemies attack. As I turned to a corner, I came upon a fork, where I saw two dark and mysterious paths stretched out before me. "A 50-50 chance, huh? I can get lost even if the chances of the correct path are 99.9%. Oh, man... What am I going to do?"

On the left, the path was wider and straight, flowing lazily into the path. I felt no danger going through that path. On the other hand, to my right, the path was narrow, curvy, and had an awful stench of decay. I even saw human bones and skulls floating around. My instincts were telling me to go to the left path, but I remembered how Isaac told me not to trust my instinct since it always brought me everywhere except the place I needed to go. After a moment of contemplation, I decided to follow Isaac's advice and swerved right. Reluctantly, I moved forward into the dark, foreboding entrance of the stinky dungeon. The air grew thick and heavy, carrying with it an awful smell that could kill a person's nose. I wrinkled my nose in disgust and pressed forward. "If I'm able to get out of here fast and rescue Rona and Ronald, sacrificing my nose is worth it."

As I paddled deeper into the forest, the stench intensified, it was making it hard to breathe. The air had a mixture of dampness, decay, and chemical. I pointed the torchlight at the wall and saw eerie damp moss covering the large intestine walls. I flashed the torchlight away from the walls. "Oui... This place isn't just creepy. It's filthy, too. Oh, my poor nose and eyes."

Suddenly, a gust of wind swept passed, carrying with it an even more intense wave of stench, releasing an unimaginable torture into the air. My eyes watered, and I puked into the juice. I wiped my puke from my mouth and said. "I don't think the rabbit will notice if I puked inside it."

I continued paddling forward while battling against the overwhelming stench that's causing me to lose consciousness.

Bloop. Bloop.

The juice around me began to bubble and froth, and I could hear a faint hissing sound coming from the juice. "Hmm? Oh! There's a bubble! But why...? Don't tell me the juice is boiling? I don't feel hot, though." I reached out my finger and touched the juice. The juice burnt my finger, and my finger turned red. "It's not boiling, but it's extremely toxic."

Suddenly, tentacles splashed out from the juice, writhing and twisting in the air. It had a thin, beautiful shade of pink, jelly like legs. With a sudden burst of motion, the monster leapt out from the juice and stuck itself on the wall above. The monster looked like a jellyfish but with multiple eyes.

I grabbed a baseball bat and aimed at it. The monster remained still, studying me as its tentacles swinging back and forth in the air.

I held the baseball bat firmly. "Come at me if you dare! I'm gonna make a ball out of you." I thought to myself. 'Thank goodness it's small. I don't think this baseball bat can hit anything bigger than a ball.'

Suddenly, the monster leapt towards me with incredible speed. I dodged out of the way instinctively, however it's tentacles managed to sting my arm. I cried out in pain, looked over at my arm, and saw red whip-like lines on my arm. I quickly grabbed a vinegar bottle and poured it over my wounds. After a while, the pain eased a bit, and I sighed in relief. "It works. I guessed it's the same as normal jellyfish, but it has many eyes." Meanwhile, the monster began to climb up the walls, ready to strike me another time. Since I can't move away from the treasure box, I had to move faster than the monster if I wanted to live.

The monster leapt towards me again, and I swung the baseball bat at the monster as hard as I could. It let out a high-pitched scream and flew back with its tentacles flailing in the air. The monster landed into the juice and ran away as fast as it could. I laughed and screamed. "Don't come back again!"
