Few weeks later
Somewhere in Iwa inside a luxurious room
In the room are four elderly people known as elders. After the election of the new Tsuchikage, three of them had almost nothing to do because Arano didn't trust them to be given important tasks, which is why Onoki an elder had so much work because he was the only one the Kage could trust.
Onoki scheduled the conference; he has no specific plans for it; all he wants is to converse with the other elders who still have some influence in politics, despite the fact that their political power has decreased since the Second Tsuchikage came to power.
Elder Harise Ramoto was the first to arrive at the meeting; he had almost no political authority and was not link to any large clan, but was backed by a minor clan; elder Takino followed him.
Elder Takino was not from any particular clan, which would normally imply that he is not someone influential, but this is not the case. Takino is someone who is quite skilled in politics despite the fact that he did not have any clan backing him. To compensate for the lack of external power, he befriended many influential people, which greatly helped him insearing his political power, and as a result, he became the third most influential elder.
Elder Aibi Shōrihana was the last to arrive.
Aibi is an elderly men who has huge political influence as a result of many people supporting him, but what gives him the most political power is that he is a member of a Major clan.
Aibi is also fairly old and has become very excellent at politics as a result of his many years as an elder; as a result of all of this, he may even compete Onoki in terms of political power, which is rather difficult because Onoki has the support of Tsuchikage himself.
When all of the Elders came, they gathered around a table and began their meeting.
"Why did you call this meeting Onoki?
What do you require from us?
Aibi , I previously stated in the letter that i just want to have a conversation.
Do not misunderstand us. We all know you want something out of this encounter, Onoki.
I notice you haven't changed your conduct; it's always difficult to talk to you.
You are not better.
Could you please stop arguing?
Yes, Harise is correct. Let's first hear what Onoki has to say, and then I'll ask some questions, which shouldn't be an issue right.
No, Elder Takino, it will not be an issue."
"I called this meeting because I needed to chat, and it is natural for me to respond to your inquiry.
Continue said one of the elder.
As you are aware, the situation in the village appears to be nice on the surface, but upon closer inspection, everyone can see that the situation in the village is rather anxious, with the competition between the Tsuchikage faction and the Major Clan faction becoming increasingly tense as time passes.
Onoki, you already know why things are the way they are; if you hadn't used your vicious method, Arano would never have become Tsuchikage.
I know you can't accept your loss in the Tsuchikage election, but Arano is the best Tsuchikage that Iwa could have."
"The best you mean for you because since he became Tsuchikage you have received an nice amount of amount of extra power in politics, but for the others it is not so great when they lose what they have worked for, you wouldn't be so pleased if you were in our place.
Arano is the strongest ninja in our village, stronger than me or any of you, he has a unique mastery over the Jinton, and his exceptionally strong connection with the earth element further adds to his strength. That is why I believe Arano is the greatest Tsuchikage Iwa could have.
Onoki, I have a question for you.
What do you mean, Elder Takino?
As you already know, even though we are Elders, we don't know everything about what you're doing, and here's my question: why are you spending so much money on a secret projects about which we know nothing?
I'd want to respond, but I'm not permitted to; if you want more information on this projects, you'll have to ask Tsuchikage.
Thank you for your response.
Onoki, you know the Tsuchikage will never answer to our question, so why are you spending so much money give us an answer!"
"Elder Aibi I'm afraid I can't answer your question.
You know, Onoki, you're spending a lot of money that belongs to the village, and not telling anybody about what is done with it , it might raise suspicions. What if there's no secret project, what if you're using it as a front to steal all of Iwa's money?
Aibi, this is a ridiculous charge. If you start spreading rumors about anything like this, the Tsuchikage will label you a traitor.
Don't you use a little too much the Tsuchikage , it is to question who actually rules the Village?
Do not doubt my devotion to the Tsuchikage.
I have no doubts about your dedication to the Tsuchikage, but I am concerned about your devotion to the Village.
And that would be the last time you could dispute mine or the Tsuchikage's devotion to the village.
It is well known that your faction is not openly opposed to the Tsuchikage faction, and you know why: our faction is just too powerful for you.
Even if you rebelled, you would be slaughtered; you lack the strength to challenge us, which is why I will advise do not try to intervene in our affairs; know that we are not frightened of you; and if we get information that you have done something against the Tsuchikage, or our village, or any of its members there will be consequences. "
And so the discussion concluded, nothing really changed, the situation would remain tense for a long time to come, but change can occur peacefully or violently, the Tsuchikage is young, and his reign will undoubtedly last many more decades.
