-Prior to the second great ninja war
Tension is rising between each ninja village , it's just a question of time when the war will start , shinobi from each village are deployed to the border of other nations , several skirmishes had already occurred between ninja from various villages.
At this point every Kage knew that the war was unavoidable which is why they were rushing to prepare for it.
The first Tsuchikage and his advisors were arguing about the future war in a specific room in the Tsuchikage Mansion the topic of this discussion was on how to attack Konoha, some want to quickly pass through the Land of Rain and advance in Konoha territory while the others wants to quickly advance in the Land of Rain to use the terrain to their advantage during the war but this option made the Land of Rain the terrain of the war not Konoha.
As the discussion with his advisors continued the plan to attack Konoha seemed to hit a roadblock. Going deep in Konoha territories would cause to much loss to their troupes , it would also be a problem to supply all of their ninjas . After much deliberation a solution was proposed - using the Land of Rain as a battlefield for the upcoming war. This would not only solve the problem of supply but also provide a strategic advantages for Iwagakure army.
The Land of Rain is known for its unpredictable weather patterns and treacherous terrain this could be used to Iwa advantage during the war. However, there were also concerns about the impact this would have on innocent civilians living in the area. The advisors discussed ways to minimize collateral damage and ensure that non-combatants were kept safe during the battle. It was clear that this decision would have far-reaching consequences, but they all agreed that it was necessary for their ultimate goal - victory in the upcoming war against Konoha.
The Ninja stationed near the border have been working tirelessly to ensure the safety of their village. The temporary headquarters they have created is a prove of their dedication and hard work. With a force of 30 Jonin Ninja, 200 Chunin Ninja, and 450 Genin Ninja, they are well-equipped to handle any situation. However, they are not resting on their laurels , they have receive information from the Tsuchikage that an additional force compose 25 Jonin, 130 Chunin, and 330 Genin will come in the next few days. This will increase their strength and allow them to cover more ground when the war start.
The Jonin will provide valuable leadership and strategic planning skills while the Chunin will bring expertise in various areas such as medical ninjutsu and tactical combat. The Genin may be young, but they are eager to prove themselves and will be a valuable asset in any battle (canon folder is always useful).
While everyone in Iwagakure is preparing for the impending conflict, Onoki is having a conversation with the Tsuchikage. The Tsuchikage is not very pleased with Onoki's proposal, but due to Onoki's persistence, he eventually accepts his demand.
Onoki's demands are simple; he wants Arano, a strong Jonin and friend of him, to act freely during the war; he asked the Tsuchikage to allow Arano to form his own team of strong ninja who would be under his direct control; Onoki stated that it would be a special division that would be extremely helpful during the war.
The Tsuchikage didn't want to accept it, but he was in a tough situation; if Onoki stop supporting him, he would be losing a significant portion of his authority, which he couldn't permit to happen due to the fact that soon there will be a war.
All of this is needed to boost Arano's popularity among the ninja and civilians. During the war, Arano will have to fought strong enemies to make a name for himself. He need to be known for his bravery and strategic thinking on the battlefield. His fellow soldiers has to looked up to him as a leader and respected him for his skills. Arano has to show that he never back down from a fight even when the odds were against him. Always finding a way to come out on top, using his intelligence and quick reflexes to outmaneuver his opponents. After the war Arano will become a legend among the people, he will be admired for his courage and dedication to the village.
This is the official narrative of what transpired during the Second Great Ninja War; the truth is less pleasant.
It was already night, Arano was already inside a tent where many Jonin were present. A war council was being conducted, an elderly Jonin who had been chosen to be the leader had demanded the presence of all Jonin, even though Arano wasn't required to come he still decided to be present during this important moment.
During the council the old Jonin revealed that the attack would begin today at night with the goal of advancing as far as possible into enemy territory.
If Konoha ninja enter the Land of Rain to halt our assault, the order is to start placing traps to weaken Konoha force and move on to safeguard strategic position.
After informing every Jonin of the strategy, it was time to notify all Shinobi of the plan.
The shinobi that were present in the war council, had all stoic faces. They listened intently as the plan was laid out before them. As night fell, they prepared their weapons and donned their armor.
The air was thick with tension as they waited for the signal to attack. When it finally came, they moved swiftly and silently through the darkness, their movements choreographed with precision. As they approached several enemy's checkpoints, they split into smaller groups to launch simultaneous attacks from different angles. Chaos erupted as the enemy scrambled to defend themselves against the onslaught. By sunrise, the Land of Rain had lost all checkpoints they had along the border with the Land of Earth.
While Iwagakure shinobi were fighting Amegakure shinobi, Arano had assembled his team, which consisted solely of Jonin.
Han the Jinchuuriki of the Five Tails was also in this group, along with a member of the Kamizuru clan and a Jonin who was Arano's friend.
Their goal was somewhat different than simply battling enemy ninja; all of the ninja present are Arano comrades , and thanks to Onoki , they don't have to follow anybody other than Arano throughout this conflict.
That is why they will have to take advantage of this opportunity to ensure their future by doing things they would not ordinarily do if they had to follow someone.
The primary goal of Arano was to make as much money as he could during the war. Because there are no rules during war, there are also opportunity to gain a large sum of money by stealing wealthy people of Amegakure such as merchants and nobles. There is also the possibility of fighting strong Amegakure or Konoha ninja , and collecting the reward if they had a bounty on their head.
A day has passed since Iwagakure attacked Amegakure, now Arano and his squad begint their "mission" of stealing money from the inhabitants of Amegakure. Luckily they know where the wealthy individuals of Amegakure live thanks to Onoki's prior investigation.
Arano and Onoki intended to use the money they will make to place a prize on the head of their enemy , a portion of the money will go to the future initiatives and the remaining amount going to all members of Arano's squad who assisted him in getting this money.
Arano and his teammate desire to keep this operation as secret as possible, which is why they all wear black clothes with masks concealing their entire faces; even though they don't intend to murder any civilians, nothing can be assured.
People may become unpredictable if you take away all of their belonging, if they fight us we will have no alternative but to kill them along with all of their family; no big issue, we are still weakening the enemy by killing civilians of Amegakure.
-Meanwhile in Konoha
The Anbu informed the Third Hokage about Iwagakure invasion of Amegakure; the Hokage was obviously upset by this news, but he knew that in order to preserve peace, he would have to wage a war, an intervention that would not be beneficial to Konoha. However, this conflict is necessary to guarantee Konoha security and stability for the future.
The Hokage sighs , before ordering the Anbu to send the ninja on the border with the Land of Rain to stop Iwagakure advance.
