Is this really a fire caused by a human?
The demons could only think as such when they watched the blaze of Flame of Hell pushing against their defenses. Everywhere their eyes could see, there were bright and massive fires, heralding destruction.
Every time Jin swung Bradamante, the entire sky and sea were violently overturned. Below, shockwaves caused tsunamis, and above, the sword energy that slaughtered demons tore through the clouds.
"Do the commanders of the True Demon World lack intelligence? They withdrew the forces that were supposed to defend our defensive wall to stop Zipfel."
Although Jin's voice was low and cold, it carried an energy close to Genesis Knight. All the demons guarding the front defense line could clearly hear that voice, which resonated throughout the entire battlefield.
There were three Demon Kings currently within Jin's field of vision.
One of them had already been engulfed by Flame of Hell, without a chance to respond or reveal their name.
He couldn't even scream as the horrific flames were beyond even high-speed regeneration. The other two Demon Kings on his left and right were writhing in pain and screaming.
"Aaaah...!"
"Kahaa!"
But even they had barely avoided fatal injuries. There was no room for counterattacks in this situation.
The fire spread where Jin's sword energy did not reach and where the fire did not reach, darkness spread. Murakan's black chains and breath were relentlessly slaughtering the demons.
If the Demon kings had used Zito's flesh from the start, they might not have been pushed to this critical situation so quickly.
Jin had always considered Demon Kings using Zito's flesh from the beginning and executed Flame of Hell with his full power. The blue flames imbued with the aura of eternal flame melted Zito's flesh first, and Jin calculated carefully to ensure that the Demon Kings would not have a chance to use the remaining flesh. He fired his sword energy.
With the situation of the three Demon Kings in this state, the lower-ranking troops could not even look at Jin. Their whole body was rapidly stiffening in response to the fighting spirit emanating from Jin.
Even if their bodies had not stiffened, most of the ordinary soldiers would not have been able to discern Jin's location. They were struggling to find a way to escape the flame of hell that replaced the surrounding air.
"I won't kill those who surrender. I won't kill those who flee, if you can escape me."
Hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands, millions...
Jin had reached a level where he could disregard such "numbers." Numbers alone could never contend with Jin.
In the end, if no one capable of facing Jin and Murakan in "battle" were to step forward, the defensive line was destined to open all the way to Grosch Castle. Such individuals needed to step forward and oppose the two in order for the number advantage of the demon army to have any significance.
[How pitiful, you demons. Even if you're just ordinary soldiers, most of you have surely existed for ages, much like us dragons. Is this what your long lifetime has led to, just to fill the ranks and meet such a meaningless end?]
Murakan spoke as he took the life of another demon king engulfed in flames. Now, there was only one demon king left on this side of the defense line, and yet, he was barely clinging to life. But in reality, he was as good as dead.
The Golden Ship's bombardment was precisely targeting him. The defensive wall was continuously launching an all-out attack.
Tsuaaaah!
The main gun of the Golden Ship tore through space, leaving a massive trajectory.. The Thunderbolt Cannon, reinforced by the illuminating heart power source and Peitel's authority, obliterated the last Demon King without a trace.
It was only natural that all the demons present in that trajectory were also wiped out.
In no time, Jin created a straight path in the air with his frost mana. He leisurely walked along that path through the burning Demon Army.
It was a bizarre sight. The demons turned to ashes and scattered like pollen, while a massive shadow force curtain spread by Murakan supported Jin's rear. The tightly formed ranks of demons were splitting in half according to Jin's steps.
They could hear the sound of distant cannon being fired from the alliance side, and the sound of demon army and their weapons burning. And there was no sound of screams.
Instead, they heard the sobbing of a demon who was lucky to survive. He was crouched amidst the wreckage of the battleships that had surfaced on the sea, consumed by despair.
However, he wasn't a defector or a deserter, so there was no reason to spare him. When Jin momentarily glanced at him, flames from nearby gathered and consumed him.
"I can't tell who's a demon and who's human anymore. Didn't you feel the sadness of a soldier who was frustrated while simply following the orders? Jin Runcandel, this is frightening."
Suddenly, a dimensional portal opened in front of Jin. Emerging from it were five new Demon Kings, hastily dispatched by Sakiel Grosch, who had grasped the situation.
Dylus Claupino, Ticano Belgasyum, Begel Milotane, Sulam Vacuria, Ragal Fun.
Jin's gaze focused on Ragal Fun, the one who had lamented about the soldier's sorrow. It was the first time they had met in person, but Jin could recognize him immediately, thanks to the intense miasma he exuded.
'It's Ragal Fun, I didn't expect to meet him so soon.'
Currently, the Vamel Alliance is expecting that Ragal is collaborating with Kelliark Zipfel.
Furthermore, Ragal has a unique mass-killing ability and has a track record of pushing back Elona, making him one of the top figures among the demon kings.
"Ragal Fun."
Ragal also had to repay the debt. He had attempted to threaten Luna using the dead Runcandel, who became Ganesto. It was necessary to confirm whether Ganesto and Kelliark Zipfel were really behind him.
"Ho-ho! Indeed, my fame has already spread throughout the human world. Well, since I half killed the Elona Zipfel who is said to be mightiest among humans, it's only natural, isn't it? Yes, I am Ragal Fun, the only one who holds the title of "Poison Demon" in the demon world."
The eyes of other Demon Kings narrowed at the self-introduction of Ragal Fun, who seemed somewhat self-indulgent, as if they found it pathetic.
They were never originally friendly with Ragal. They were all individuals closer to Claupino or Belgasyum. Jin briefly recalled the information that Visepps had provided and tried to identify the rest of the Demon Kings.
'The demon with the longsword is Dylus, the patriarch of Claupino family, and Ticano, the Demon King of Belgasyum family. The other two are likely Begel Milotane, the ruler of the Frost region, and Sulam Vacuria, the ruler of the Plague region.'
Most of them were significantly more prominent figures than the Demon Kings Luna had encountered in her preemptive attack missions.
"Human world, or rather, the strongest human in this world is not Elona Zipfel, Ragal Fun. Honestly, I was a little curious myself, but thanks to you, the rankings have become clear."
"What? What are you talking about?"
"If you had encountered the patriarch of our sword clan instead of Elona Zipfel that day, you might not be here now."
Swish!
Jin released his sword energy towards the Demon Kings first. Except for Dylus and Ticano, the other Demon Kings scattered in all directions, avoiding the onslaught of the fire.
Dylus and Ticano, on the other hand, blocked the sword energy head-on and closed the distance with Jin. Dylus even managed to gaze at Jin's hair with his lance.
On the surface, it was quite a precarious moment, but Jin grinned and brushed the sword against Dylus' forehead. Dylus almost fell into the sea while trying to block the strike.
"The previous demon kings were so weak that it was boring. But it seems this time there are some who can put up a decent fight."
In the meantime, Ticano made a charge for Jin's side, but he had to halt under the relentless shower of black chains.
Dylus and Ticano had the highest combat capabilities among the new Demon Kings.
Dylus was somewhat shaken but regained his composure and mustered his strength. His stance had faltered for a moment after the single strike Jin delivered.
'I was curious about the gap between the young patriarch of the sword clan and me, but now it seems like making a comparison would be meaningless…'
Jin couldn't allow Dylus and Ticano to get their hands on the flesh, no matter what. As long as he could prevent them from strengthening their body, the battle would never become tiresome.
Dylus tried to use the flesh immediately after closing the gap, but there was simply no opening.
It would take just a second or two, but Jin was pressing Dylus so fiercely that even that much time seemed impossible.
"If you wanted to use Zito's flesh, you should have used it in advance. Were you worried it would be wasted if you use it in advance? How foolish."
"Tsk...!"
Dylus barely pushed away Bradamante, which was weighing him down like a mountain, and thought of the three Demon Kings who died before him.
On the battlefield, there was no sign of the Zito's true energy that they should have used. Similarly, now he couldn't use Zito's flesh like them, so it was a clear mistake, just as Jin had said.
"I am not the kind of person who can fight while calculating things like you guys. Zito would be happy to see this. To Zito, what are you guys, anyway? If I were Zito, you'd probably look like parasites who feed on my flesh."
Murakan also made the same decision as Jin. He was pressuring Ticano to prevent him from using the flesh.
The best thing would be to make the remaining three unable to use the flesh, but that was difficult. No matter how inferior they were in terms of power, it would only take about 2 seconds for them to break the flesh. Begel and Sulam had already managed to break the flesh as they took advantage of the situation.
Of course, if there were people that needed to be protected, Jin would have prioritized preventing Ragal Fun from using the flesh first.
However, their allies were far away, providing artillery support from the defensive line, and there were only Jin and Murakan fighting on the enemy side. It was impossible for Ragal to take hostages in this situation.
'Wow... Seriously, as friend Kelliark said, Jin Runcandel is a formidable opponent. He doesn't even give Dylus a chance to breathe from the beginning. Ticano isn't weak either, but in front of Murakan, he looks like a mere child.'
However, Ragal had never intended to engage in a sincere battle from the start.
He had no choice but to comply with Sakiel's request for assistance and reluctantly came along. Ragal didn't care whether the Demon Kings that were brought with him lived or died.
That's why he didn't use the flesh even though he could.
'It looks like there is only a matter of time before these two lose to Jin Runcandel. I'll use them as shields and run away at the right time. Sakiel, that stupid bitch. Why doesn't Sakiel know something that my friend Kelliark and I know? Excluding Lord Zito, there are only about four or five people in the True Demon World who can have a proper fight against Jin Runcandel.'
Unlike in the past, Ragal's loyalty was no longer solely directed towards Zito. In some ways, he now favored Kelliark Zipfel more than Zito.
