He paused again, reluctant.
Jiang Yue waited, her gaze steady.

The air stilled between them.
Gao Tian looked away, his voice lower. "The night before your AI and Robotics Challenge, I bumped into Xia Mingzhou. I was… planning to confess to Xiao Xiu. I—I like her... very much."
"I know," Jiang Yue said plainly.
He blinked. "You do?"
She nodded. "It was obvious."
