Caius, for one thing, did not know and had no idea if the little girl was telling the truth or lying to him, but he was still willing to believe her.
So now, there are a number of scenarios that may have transpired just a short while ago. One was that Seth, in one way or another, somehow came into the little girl's tent while she was asleep; the second was that the little girl was lying to him; the third was that there was a traitor who worked for Seth in the midst of the vampire race; and fourth and lastly, a spy who either carried Seth's belongings or had met Seth not long ago had, by some means, mixed into the camp.
