Shen Hua was bleary-eyed and struggled to open the small jar.
Finally managing to open a jar of essential oil, she then cautiously extended a paw inside, carefully rubbed it until softened, and meticulously applied it to all four paw pads.
After applying the oil, Shen Hua struggled again to close the jar. Having finished these tasks, she opened a container of ointment and slathered on a thick layer.
Her movements were practiced, clearly indicating this wasn't her first or second time doing this.
If it weren't for the sticky feeling, she would have loved to smear it all over herself.
She lifted her paw to her nose to smell it. Her hind legs shook playfully. If it weren't for Cui Yun's light sleep, she would even have hummed a little tune.
It wasn't the scent she liked; it was a bit too strong.
But it was bearable.
