Sonic bat and unpleasant memories.
After half an hour of walking, Eric sensed upon a place where he could picture, what appears to be giant bats with big round ears. It was even slightly larger than a stone hound.
It was hanging upside down on the ceiling, after Eric took one step closer it spread its wings as it flew toward Eric.
Already prepared for the attack Eric fired fire spears at it. stopping in its tracks, giant bat opened its mouth as it released what Eric could only describe as Sonic blast. Whatever it was, it collided with coming fire spears as it eradicated all the spears and continued its way to Eric.
Shocked by this situation, Eric tried to use [stone armour] but Sonic blast crashed into Eric midway in [stone armour], Eric was thrown off from his position as he crashed into the ball.
Eric got up with some back pain, and lots of ringing in his ear. as his already incomplete stone armour was damaged even more.
Eric looked to see where the giant bat was. It was flying, as it eyed Eric carefully as to seemingly understanding that Eric was not easy prey.
'My attacks are getting more and more useless against these monsters.'
Eric thought as he remembered the incident where stone hound found a way to avoid his Chaos fire.
"That's it let's do something big."
Eric decided as he moved his hands upwards. A fire ball appeared above his hand but it was not stopping. Seeing this scene the giant bat didn't sit back as it released another Sonic blast. bigger than before just like Eric.
Eric released his giant fire ball as well, shortly
Both the Sonic blast and fire ball collided.
Collision caused the heavy noise. As both the attacks were nullified.
Having no other choice Eric Decided to go for close combat. Noticing Eric approaching, bat flew even higher, as Eric saw bat flying on even higher altitude ge didn't waste time and fired loads of fire bullets at the bat.
Eric normally never used the fire bullet other than Training. reason that although they will be useful against single target but Eric mostly fought monsters higher rank then him. meaning monsters had more mana then him and firing single fire bullets was useless against monsters like stone hounds.
and firing many of them cost accuracy, and it was easier to make a fire spear which had more damage and the same amount of mana needed as many fire bullets.
Eric tried to improve accuracy with fire bullets but he was at a dead end , and the only solution he could come up with was ranking up through which he would have more control over his power.
Not expecting so many projectiles. Bat released another Sonic blast although it was much weaker than the previous two it was enough for the fire bullets.
But Eric wasn't looking to hurt the bat with fire bullets, as instead he wanted to distract bat, so he could have opportunities of firing real deal at the bat.
After firing Sonic blast to destroy fire bullets, the bat looked below to observe Eric to only see a big fire spear coming its way.
This fire spear was at least 3-4 times bigger than normal.
Bat released Sonic blast against the spear but it was no use as Eric spears collided with Sonic blast. it destroyed the bat attack and continued without stopping.
Seeing this bat tried to flee but just as it moved, it's right side was pierced by spears, and soon it crashed on the ground near Eric. It was so close that Eric saw it withering in pain as. it was in so much pain that it didn't even realise that Eric was close by.
Soon Chaos fire consumed it all and turned it into ashes.
After seeing the process in front of his eyes, there wasn't even a trace of sympathy in Eric's eyes. this was how the world worked and Eric knew it. if he wasn't strong he would be the one dying right now. Shortly after Eric got the prompt.

[ You gained the ability Sonic blast ]
[ Sonic blast : waves of sound released in one single destructive motion. ]
As soon as he read the information about the ability. He started to feel dizzy as his nose started bleeding.
'Fuck! Must be from when I crashed into the wall.'
Eric thought as he took out the healing potion from his pocket space.
"Anyway, why isn't the dungeon portal appearing."
Eric looked around the cave to see if there was anything he was missing. And there was nothing he could see.
He sat down with the help of the wall. Apparently he was quite injured in a fight with that bat but he didn't notice the injuries because of adrenaline.
He was quite exhausted mentally to. Although he didn't trust anyone not even his father or his brother it was still difficult to understand why Maverick who he knew for more than 7 years betrayed him like this.
'He must have been a spy.'
This was the best conclusion Eric could come up with,
' this has happened before it is not surprising that this happened again.'
Eric decided to stop thinking about Maverick as he dozed off.

In a big library with more than 50 big shelves of books, there was a kid. He looked no more than 10 years old, The kid had light red hair and an ocean like blue eyes. with his round chubby cheeks if anyone passed by they would at least pat the kid on head.
This kid was Eric.
'It's been one and a half month and my brother isn't back yet.'
Eric thought as he turned the pages of the book.
The book was about the world before great
catastrophe. Apparently humans in those times were top of the food chain and they were spread throughout the world.
Eric continued to turn pages as he became more and more interested in the book and soon he finished the book. Just when Eric was about to start another book, the library door opened and a beautiful girl with a maid dress entered the library. She had a cute face, brown shoulder length hair, and jade-like green eyes. She was rose Eric's personal maid, she was not much older than Eric, around 13 years old.
Rose and Eric grew up together, as rose was the daughter of head servant she directly became maid of Alastair family's young master.
"Young master it's time for your lunch."
"Rose how many times do I have to tell you to call me by my name."
Eric said as he jumped off the chair
"You know I can't do that young master."
"Again, not even when we are alone?"
" I- I can try."
"Better"
Eric said as he stepped outside the library.
Eric didn't notice a smile forming on Rose's face even if he did he wouldn't have understood the meaning.
As Eric reached the dinning table he saw there was no food on the dining table.
Rose followed from behind. And as she saw the state of the dining table she frowned.
'What are they doing in the kitchen.'
"Young master wait here for a bit I'll bring the food."
"No I'll come with you"
Rose sighed as she saw Eric following her.
'He won't listen to me any way.'
Soon both Eric and rose reached the kitchen. But there was no one inside.
Rose entered the kitchen to search for the staff. While searching she reached the place where all the new ingredients are kept.
Rose was about to leave when she heard noises from the back door of the kitchen.
"We need to kill him and leave now!"
"But he just a kid. Like our son he's only 10 years old."
'What! They're planning to kill someone.'
As rose got close to back door, she saw head chef and his wife arguing about killing someone. She decided to head back tell her mother about this.
"We need to kill Eric Alastair. This is our last mission and then we can live with our son peacefully. Ok?"
Head chief grabbed his wife's shoulder as he tried to convince her.
Listening to their conversation Rose's eyes opened wide.
'They are trying to kill young master!'
She panicked, and hit one of the boxes which resulted in it falling down.
Thud- hearing the noice outside head chief came out.
First he saw a box of ingredients with all of its content spreading nearby. and then he saw Rose standing in front of him with a little device in her hand she was just about to press it. The head chef suddenly lunged at her but it was too late as rose had already pressed the button on the device. And the whole castle started an alarm and beeping yellow light.
Even after seeing rose pressing the button, the head chef couldn't stop himself as he punched the girl in the stomach.
Rose flew like a rag ball as she crashed into the back wall.
Eric who was about to tell rose that he was leaving, suddenly he saw a flying object pass by him and hitting the wall.
When he saw what hit the wall he was horrified. Rose's whole body was embedded in the wall and blood was leaking out. Her head hunged low as if she was staring at floor.
