As the front lines were not yet completely broken through, Lydia and Ailoke quickly took command, busily setting up three machine guns on both sides of the street, while soldiers equipped with firing guns also formed two neat rows.
Enemy forces arrived much faster than expected, almost immediately after they had finished their formation. In the distance, hundreds of well-armored soldiers from the God's Punishment Army were already charging, with dozens in the front ranks holding greatswords and massive shields, creating a solid shield wall.
"Are those the God's Punishment Army? They don't seem so special..." Lydia muttered quietly.
Old York's mouth twitched involuntarily, and he hastily interjected, "Lady Lydia, never underestimate them. These people are formidable, able to easily prevail even when faced with numerous foes at once, and the massive shields in their hands are augmented with Divine Arts, impenetrable even to our firearms!"
