Jake chuckled at her words. "Wait—don't you get it? I said I want to build the world with you. Money's not your problem anymore," he said, spelling it out clearly. "I'll contact the kingdom's accountant and bookkeeper to make scientific research part of the national budget. Whatever funds you need, they'll be allocated to you. We've got a fortune rotting in the reserves, we might as well put it to use for something that actually matters," he added with a wink.
Zunda, overwhelmed with excitement, climbed into Jake's lap and gave him a deep, grateful kiss before pulling back slightly. Her eyes glistened, and she looked like she might cry.
