I was sitting inside the toilet, with my shaking hands on the phone.
"System the fuck is going on? why is Chris in the movie ?"
{ The Harry Potter storyline of this world must have Chris as a character. That is why you can see him in the movie }
"How can that be possible?
{There is only one answer, the Chris in the movie is the same Chris you know }
"That can't be, this must be an alternate version of Harry Potter with him in it or something"
{That is not possible because, without you, he was supposed to die with his family. Even if he survived, he would still not have magic. In conclusion, There is only one Chris in the multiverse that goes to Hogwarts}

"It's him again!" sighed " what does the document say? give me a quick summary of it.
{In summary, The document explains in detail how the worlds are created using stories. }
"Yeah, I know that already, anything more?"
{It says that all the worlds exist toghther on the same plain. Some near and some far apart from each other. They all are linked with the stories each world has. This forms a mesh network of worlds that cascades infinitely growing into the vast omniverse. Your power allows you to actually see and navigate between the worlds but it still needs a link between the world to do it }
"So you're saying this world I am in now is linked to my previous world? "

"But that doesn't make sense, I have been living in that world for years, was he planning for this from evan before that world was created?"
{The worlds exists beyond time. It is the system that has synced your time with both worlds. So a day here is a day there. My data shows that the connection was made recently}
"Did Morpheus explain anything about how and what he did? "
{He did sir, It seems his first attempt in the 80s failed, then he tried again in the 2000s and finally succeeded. When the first movie was released, it was able to form the link and so you were able to come here.}
"So there's a reason why I came in 2001 huh, did he say how he did it?"

This raises a lot of questions and it was getting late. I put away the phone and got out of the toilet. The most important thing now is to check for me if the system was telling the truth. I went back to the theater to watch the rest of the movie.
Sadly, I missed a lot. I needed to rewatch it again later. The movie was going normally, it was amazing to see Chris in the movie, he was just like how he was in real life. He was as smart as Hermione but had more talent in magic, which is saying something as this makes him better than the best wizard of his generation. I can see how if I was in his place, I would use my future knowledge and a normal system to easily become OP.
But Chris was different than me. He was a Gryffindor. I know, it's a very basic hero persona now that I think about it, probably because of the Pseudo-soul.
I saw Chris joining the golden trio, making it a golden quartet now. They did the same things as the story I know. I saw Chris getting into conflict with Snape and also encountering the three-headed dog with Harry and his friends. At this point, this Chris seemed just like the Chris I know, but my hope of him being an alternate version was increasing. Just then it happened.
The scene was at night time. Harry woke up and walked to the window and saw Chris already sitting next to it. He also walked up and sat next to him. They started talking about something, about how Harry was feeling lonely and sad when Chris said "Do you know when someone dies, they become stars in the sky? I like to think my mom and dad always watch me from up there, so I never feel lonely."
Harry was surprised and looked at the starry sky and said "That is actually nice, do you think my parents are also watching me from up there? "
Chris put his hands over Harry's shoulder and said "yes, they may not be with you but they can always see you from up there. So why be lonely and sad, they would not want to see that right? " They both watched the night sky then the scene ends.
My worst fears came true. 'THIS CHRIS IS MY CHRIS...FUCK!' i was screaming in my mind. I remember telling him about the stars when I first met him. I would never forget those cringey lines. And from then on, he would always watch the night sky. There is no way that another Chris would say such a thing. That confirms it. This movie that I am watching now was definitely my world. Does that mean I am watching the future?
I watched the movie until the end. Everything was the same until the end. All four went to protect the Philosopher's Stone where they had to face the same trials. There was an extra trial of potions at the end that Chris stayed behind to do and Harry went in alone. Everything was as usual, but here Quirrell was, wearing gloves that protected him from Harry's touch. This was not in the original. He was able to push Harry down and grab the stone successfully. But when he stood up to leave, Chris cast a Knockback Jinx (a first-year DADA spell) from the back and Quirrell fell down due to the sudden attack. Quite ironic as he was the one who taught this in class.
As Quirrell was disoriented, Harry tried to grab the stone again. but this time he pushed Quirrell by his face; this did the trick, and soon Quirrell turned to dust, but the stone was also shattered during their scuffle. Harry was flat on the ground panting and looking at the stone disappear as he fainted. Cris could be seen running up to him. Then the scene ends. The rest of the movie was similar to how I remember.
After the movie ended, I ran out of the theater and made my way back to the sanctum quickly. I had a lot to talk about with the ancient one.
I told the ancient one about the Harry Potter movie and Chris in the evening. She thought for a second and gestured in the air, soon seven books flew to the table. They were the Harry Potter books from this world.
She told me that the Harry Potter books were written in the 80s in this world, but the writer got mentally ill soon after and was hospitalized, Sadly the books were badly written, so they never became popular. I think Morpheus was behind this as it matches with what the system told me earlier.
For the movies, a famous director bought the rights and decided to make them. They then became a hit. That was how the link was made and i was able to come here.
I took all the books to my room and started reading them. The books were very hard to understand but I kept reading. From what I found reading these books, It seems these books were loosely based on the movie version of my old world. But the new Harry Potter movies bring back some book elements. This is why peeves existed in the movie today. Another thing was, of course, Chris. It seems the books didn't have him. But he was introduced in the movies.
After reviewing the various versions of Harry Potter I had, I came to a conclusion. In the original books, J.K. had made Ron a smart character but in the movies, they changed that to make him dumb and gave his dialogues to Hermione. This also transferred here in the books. But the new director didn't want to change Ron so he introduced a new Character 'Christopher' in the story. The next morning, I told my hypothesis to the Ancient One.
She just nodded while drinking her tea, she slowly put down her cup on the table and looked at me "And i see you are not able to take it too well ?"
I looked at her but didn't say anything, I had nothing to say. Even after the system told me that he was 'my' Chris, I didn't want to believe that. Because if I did, then it would mean that everything that has happened to Chris his whole life was just a small part of a fucking movie. And if that were the case, what does make me and everyone living in that world?
"I... I don't know what to feel about it I guess? I mean, I have lived in that world for more than 10 years now, and I know a lot of people there who are just as alive as anyone really. They are all no less 'real' than me.
Even after I found out I was in a movie world, I just thought it must be somthing like time travel or something. I just thought that I happened to fall in a time before the story takes place. That's it. But after meeting Morpheus, I realized that it was all an elaborate plan, everything was pre-planned and pre-destined, and I was supposed to be there but somehow I was not a part of it."
Before I could continue, the ancient one interrupted me "But seeing your brother on the big screen has shaken you, why is that?"
I sighed and continued "The Chris in the movie was saying something I told him years ago. It means that someone in this world made up those lines and somehow they are the same as what I told him. Its as if-"
"You were already a part of the story" Before I finished speaking, the ancient one finished my sentence. She looked at me with a smile and said "Mr. Rohan, I may not know much about other universes but I assure you, I know mine very well and more importantly, I have studied about time longer than anyone.
In all these years, I have looked through countless timelines and come to realize that everyone has a fate, a destiny to follow no matter what. Many powerful people have sort to change that but have failed miserably. All we can do is accept that and make the best of it. You should too."
I quietly sat lost in my thought. It was true, the main reason I was so on edge about Chris being in the movie was that it meant the life I had till now was supposed to happen. And if that was the case, could my feelings and sentiments be counted as real? Am. I. real?
She continued "I would not be dwelling on those thoughts if I were you. You see, I have tried to change the timeline countless times but my death is always absolute. It is my fate to die. But you have something that perhaps no one has ever had."
I looked at her with wide eyes, confused. She smiled and explained " Think about it. Whatever this Morpheus did has connected both of our worlds toghther. With what you have told me about how new worlds are created, it leads me to believe that the Harry Potter movies of this world will decide the fate of your world.
It means that the movies are literally writing the fate of your world. And so if you want to change anything in your world, you just have to change the movie."
I looked at her in shock, I was so concerned about the problems that I didn't even realize the advantages. If I could make alterations to the story, then I would be no different from a god changing the world.
I think for a second and found a glaring problem. I ask the ancient one "But if what the movie showed was the future, doesn't that mean it also accounts for me traveling to this world and the future changes I would do?"
She thought for a second and said "Not necessarily, the movies may only represent a single timeline much like the marvel movies you have shown me earlier. This means that if you change something in your world, you will just create a new timeline splitting from the original. "
I was now excited, if that was true then I could very easily change the future as I see fit. I just needed to look more into the movies and their creator now.
Now that i found a new direction, I got up from the chair and said my goodbyes "This is good then. I will be going to my room to make some plans for what I will do in the future."
Before I left the room she spoke from behind "I suggest you be careful Mr. Rohan. the movies are a great help to you in showing you an accurate future. But if you change your world too much from the other side, then the movies may become useless to you so start small. "
I sighed and said "yes, I will be." and left for my room.
