Rowan scrambled to his feet, letting his barely-there song fall away as he placed himself between the Creature and the two remaining adherents. He balled his hand into a fist, ready to release every remaining bit of Disorder through his conduit to fight off the thing that surely wanted to finish the job the other ones like itself had started.
"I heard you singing. I like your voice better this way. You sound weak." The garish imitation of Sacha let its gaze drift around the shadow-space, looking very pleased with what it saw. "Maybe my brother-selves were not as useless as I thought. At least they allowed me to talk to you again. All alone this time. Lucky me."
Some of the shadow entities separated from the pack that still circled each other near the spot on the barrier that Rowan had tried to tear down. They approached the Creature with the same curiosity they'd exhibited toward Rowan, but when the Creature reached an unnaturally long arm toward them, they slunk away.
