Dinner that night was not a joyous affair. Liu Fen forced herself to eat a little before leaving with the child.
Qian'e was acting a little out of sorts. She drank at one side alone and seemed to have something on her mind. Qiao Mei took note of this and told Xia Zhe to sleep with the children tonight. She wanted to have a good chat with Qian'e.
"What 's wrong with you tonight?" Qiao Mei asked curiously.
"Me? I'm fine!" Qian'e said as she sat unsteadily on the bed.
"I don't believe you. You must be hiding something from me. Are there still secrets that you can't tell me?" Qiao Mei asked.
Qian'e sighed. It was not that she did not want to tell Qiao Mei but Qiao Mei was not in a much better situation now. She did not want to cause Qiao Mei any more trouble because of her trivial issues.
"Tell me!" Qiao Mei said anxiously.
Qian'e grabbed onto Qiao Mei unsteadily and said, "Alright, alright, alright! I'll tell you! It's… it's about my family."
