Just then, the ringing of a cell phone broke the silence. Ethan Howard glanced at the caller ID and picked up the phone.
A male voice came through the earpiece, "Sorry to disturb you, but I've found a new clue. Lydia Janis's son, Toby, was kidnapped a few days ago. Do you want to continue with the investigation?"
Kidnapped?!
Ethan Howard's mind buzzed, his grip on the phone tightening.
Veins popped up prominently on the back of his hand.
A low pressure emanated from his being, alarming even Sunnie Howard.
What had happened?
Ethan Howard's expression turned fierce, "Continue the investigation, make everything crystal clear. Money is no object."
Hearing this, the detective on the other end promised to get to the bottom of it as soon as possible.
Phone call ended.
Ethan Howard took a deep breath, trying to quell the raging anger within.
After learning about these developments, he had planned to return to the Capital the next day, but now that would have to wait.
