Samra p.o.v
Martha told me what happened between her and Cody and how she thought she was going to get together with him only to find out that he was not into her like before.
I found myself being dragged into some kind of situationship where I am trying to figure out how to make things happen, as I don't want to cause trouble for everyone.
I know Martha too well for her to let things slide, especially when it comes to her ex, who now became every girls crush.
Something about him screams perfection, good looking, assistant to our professor and has an internship in a hospital.
Not only that, but he's also related to Brian, and now I don't think things will go as smoothly as I think.
Now that Martha has stated that her ex is interested in Sophie, I don't think I should tell her that she's right.
All I have to do is to try my best to get everyone to become friends, and I have to fulfil this mission no matter what.
Martha is my best friend, and there's nothing more important to me than seeing her get hurt, which I can sense it.
Finding out that your ex is interested in your frenemy is quite unexpected. Now that Brian's mom is well and he'll be back to school, I'll have to find a way to bring everyone together.
The next day, Martha and I went to class and sat down together when Brian and alvaro came in together as well.
Brian was talking to him as they were walking towards us, I happened to Sophie and another girl entering the class.
I was about to call Sophie when Martha pulled my hand down.
"What do you think you're doing?"
"What? Am I calling Sophie any problem?"
"Yeah, you know how I feel about her, or did you forget about what I told you?"
"No, I haven't. I am trying to make sure that things work between you two,"
"You know that will never happen, samra, so stop thinking about it happening."
"You know me too well to know that I don't stop once I want to have something."
"Well, good luck getting your way,"
I smiled and still called Sophie, but she had already sat with the girl she came in with the girl she came in with.
The teacher came in as the bell rang and asked about the assignment he gave a week ago.
As he looked around, he noticed that the class seemed full, unlike before.
"Have you guys chosen to do medicine by your choice or for someone?"
Everyone agreed, but the teacher knew too well that some students were there for a reason none other for alvaro and not that they were interested in his class.
He didn't say anything but continued his class for an hour and then left as soon as the bell rang.
Some girls took out their phones or iPad to snap pictures of alvaro as he and Brian started to leave.
I looked around, and Martha was standing there looking confused as I was looking for Sophie, but she was nowhere to be seen.
"Are we leaving or not?"
"Am looking for Sophie she's nowhere to be seen,"
"Who cares she might have left already, and besides, we have cheerlead to practice, so let's go,"
Martha pulled me away to the other side of the class as girls were too busy snapping pictures.
We walked to the locker room to change as we got ready. Something fell from Martha's bag.
I was about to look, but someone snatched it before I could get to it. As I looked up, I saw Martha trying to hide it.
"Is something wrong, Martha? Are you OK? What's with the envelope?"
"It's nothing. I'll tell you later. We'll be late for practice,"
She said as she grabbed my arm and we left the locker room.
As we entered the courtroom, I looked around and saw Sophia and the girl who she was with earlier. Before i could say something, Martha called me towards the group.
We practised some routine, then saw the boys came and started practising for the next game that was about to happen soon.
By then, it was already lunch, and we all left the room, and so did the people who were there either watching us or just hanging around, including Sophia and the girl.
We, the cheerleaders, went back to change as I was changing my clothes. Martha came and took out her bag and waited as I was wearing my shoes.
I didn't say anything as I didn't want to make her feel like I was pressuring her.
We walked together towards the cafe when I bumped into someone, I almost lost my balance when a strong arm held my waist before I could fall down.
I turned to see Brian with alvaro and Martha standing there.
"Thanks for saving me," I said as I stood up straight.
"You're welcome,"
We then walked in as he held the door for us.
We walked towards the busy line as we waited for our turn.
"How's your mom doing?" I asked Brian as we followed the line.
"She's fine and is taking bed rest as she was instructed by the doctor."
"Do you mind if I tag along to go and see her after school?"
"Not at all,it's OK."
We soon took our order and sat on empty seats. When I turned around and saw Sophia and the girl again, they were walking towards another table when I called them.
"Hey, Sophie, mind joining us for lunch?"
They looked at each other and then walked towards our table, as they sat down, I saw Martha's face almost as if she didn't want to accept her.
But I didn't mind as I was going to make sure that they get to talk and get along for my sake if not theirs.
As they were about to sit down, martha put her bag on the bench before Sophia was about to sit down.
"What the heck is this?" I asked as I stood up and looked at Martha annoyed with her behaviour towards the girls.
"What? I didn't invite them you did so why don't you sit with them somewhere else.
"Martha stop acting like some spoiled brat."
"I don't like her, since you do why go and sit somewhere else. I don't understand why she has to be here anyway,"
"Martha, seriously, put the bag down and let them sit, will you?"
"It's OK, samra. we will sit somewhere else. I don't want to bother you guys,"
"Don't worry, I am sure Martha was kidding, right, Martha?"
I looked at Martha, who rolled her eyes, annoyed but let them sit as she faked her smile.
Both Sophia and the girl sat down, I looked at Martha, who was busy on her phone as the guys looked at each other without a word.
"So who is this?" I asked Sophia as I sat down next to her.
"This is Maria, my roommate," she introduced her to us.
"Nice to meet you guys," she waved and smiled at us.
"Let me guess she happens to question you when you get to the dorm room late and annoys you like she did with me, right?" Martha asked as she turned her phone down.
"Not quite, but she's helpful and is nice. Why did you ask?" Mariam asked, looking confused.
"Oh no reason, buy just in case you find yourself in trouble. I'll warn you. Your roommate isn't as innocent as she looks,"
"What? What do you mean?"
"Oh!it's just that they were roommates last semester, and it didn't work out for them,"
I interfered before Martha could say anything else.
"So how come we haven't seen you since the beginning of the week?" I asked as I took a sip of my mango juice.
"I actually changed my schedule due to missing some classes."
"Well, it's OK. we're glad to see you and get to know you too,"
Soon, the bell rang for class, and we went our separate way. I followed Martha, who was heading towards the library, as I had a free period.
"Mind telling me why you were so mean to Sophia earlier, just because you have bad blood with her doesn't mean you have to make it hard for her"
"And you seem to be getting closer to her lately, and you seem to for get that you're supposed to be my best friend and not defending my frenemy."
"I thought you'd be mature to leave the past and try to be friends with her, and what's with the secrecy when we were in the locker room?"
"Friends? Really samra don't try to be friends with her because you don't know her like I do and secrecy I do have a secret I'll tell you later " she said as she looked at her phone.
She quickly walked away before I could ask her what she meant.
Out of curiosity, I followed her and saw her walking towards the another girl who was sitting on bench typing on her laptop.
Martha handed her an envelope, which I saw falling off her bag earlier, I wondered what she was up to and what she was doing with it.
She looked around and quickly exchanged with another envelope which was smaller than hers.
"What are you doing, Martha? What's with the secrecy? I wondered....
