Jay had broken his promise to give her the freedom of going outside. Now, he restricted her activity range to within the boundaries of the mansion. She wasn't allowed to step foot outside of his premises anymore. Since he was stinking rich, the mansion's land area was more than enough for her to explore for weeks.
Even so, Maisy felt miserable and down, and the only thing she did was sit on the couch in the living room all day long. She couldn't believe how Jay had even hired some watchmen to prevent her from sneaking out. It was ridiculous and ironic. There was no difference between her and a prisoner in jail, was there?
She waited every single day for Jay to return home, only to show him attitude of her frustration towards his unfair decision, doing so by rolling her eyes at him and turning a deaf ear to most of his questions. She hoped she could deliver the message about how unhappy she was with his doing. Nevertheless, it didn't change anything, and Jay carried on as usual.
