Sorry for the delay over the last few days, guys.

Jack clapped his hands together and smiled at Joyce. "Smart, really smart. You figured it out. This place should commend you for your intelligence. It's true—you were the one who proposed using transformation elements to fuse with human beings. Of course, you'd be the first to try it."

"Even if we achieve results from the research," Isa interrupted coldly, "humans and deformation elements still cannot be fused. The human body simply isn't capable of bearing the energy and strain of deformation elements. Based on all our theoretical values, only a physical form that exceeds twice the human limit might even possibly survive the fusion. And tell me—do you know anyone like that?" Her voice carried an unmistakable tone of ridicule, clearly mocking the idea. In her view, there was no such person in existence.

Jack gave a careless shrug and spread out his arms. "Sorry to disappoint you all, but this body—this seat—is about three times the limit of an ordinary human being. Honestly, it doesn't even feel like something worth showing off."

Joyce's expression changed instantly. "That's impossible! Three times the limit of an average human? Don't be ridiculous! No such person exists. Stop trying to fool me with this nonsense."

"Oh, by the way," Jack said casually, almost as an afterthought, "we already paid a visit to Laboratory Number One. Wembley handled things quite well. The fusion process wasn't all that difficult."

"What did you say?!" Joyce exclaimed.

"Ding ding," Jack said mockingly, "just like that tough chick who messed with your wife."

"You... You actually fused with the deformation elements?!"

Jack raised his eyebrows. "What do you think?"

"I don't believe it! I won't believe it! What about Wembley? Where is he now?" Joyce demanded loudly, his voice filled with panic.

Jack glanced up at the ceiling, then down at the floor. "He could be sipping tea with God… or maybe trading souls with Satan. Who's to say?"

"You killed him?" Joyce screamed, losing his composure.

"No, I didn't kill him," Jack replied indifferently. "I simply helped him pass on. Honestly, he should be thanking me."

"I'll kill you! I swear I'll kill you!" Joyce shouted furiously, his eyes bloodshot.

"Oh please," Jack scoffed. "Don't get so emotional. Relax. I'm not going to kill you right now. You're still useful to me."

Just then, Harold Attinger arrived, flanked by a team of agents. "Joyce, we're here."

Joyce turned sharply. "Attinger, my good brother. You came at the right time."

Harold looked directly at Jack. "So it is you. I've been looking for you. You've done quite the job back in Texas. Made the federal agents look like absolute fools."

Jack grinned. "Well, that's just how awesome I am. But let's be honest—it also proves your gang of lapdogs is completely worthless. Where's James, that disgrace of a squad leader from the Tomb Wind Team? Didn't come today?"

"He's not coming," Harold replied grimly.

"Huh. Thought maybe you finally fired him. Still keeping trash like that around? Says a lot about your decision-making. Honestly, it tells me your IQ is barely higher than that of a dog." Jack laughed openly and mockingly.

"You will die a painful death," Harold said, his tone dark and foreboding.

Suddenly, a woman's voice rang out, calm but firm. "What's going on here?"

Joyce's face changed the moment he saw her. "My dear Rose—Su Yueming—why are you here? This place isn't safe. You should leave, right now."

Su Yueming looked around the room calmly. "I'll be the judge of what's safe. No one tells me where I can or can't go."

Jack chuckled. "Well, well, look who it is. Hello there, fellow citizen. I still remember those lips of yours."

Su Yueming turned her eyes to Jack—and immediately, fury flashed across her face. "You! You bastard!"

"Lips? What lips? What did he do to you?" Joyce asked, visibly upset. He had feelings for Su Yueming, though she had never reciprocated them.

"This is my business. It has nothing to do with you," Su Yueming responded curtly.

"Damn it! What did you do to her?" Joyce roared at Jack.

Jack clicked his tongue. "Ding ding, kid, don't beat around the bush. Fine, I'll tell you. It's not a big deal. Just a little kiss. That's all." He raised a finger to his mouth as if savoring the memory.

"What?!" Joyce looked at Su Yueming in disbelief. "Is that true?"

"You despicable bastard!" Su Yueming screamed and lunged toward Jack.

Jack smirked. "Very spirited."

Joyce shouted, "Attinger, shoot him! Kill him—dead or alive, I don't care!"

Harold and the agents immediately raised their weapons. "Fire!"

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Jack stood still, watching the bullets fly toward him. "Seriously? This is way too slow. It's like watching turtles in a race. Do I really have to keep pretending here?"

To the others, Jack's hands seemed to vanish as they waved through the air—moving so fast they left behind ghostly afterimages. It was as if a dozen hands were dancing at once.

"Cease fire!" Harold shouted.

Clink, clink, clink!

The bullet fragments fell to the ground one by one with crisp metallic sounds.

"How is this even possible?" Su Yueming stared in shock. "Are you still human?"

"Of course I'm human," Jack said. He glanced downward. "One look at my male features and it's obvious—I'm very much a man."

"Ugh!" Su Yueming let out a disgusted gasp.

Joyce turned toward Harold. "Attinger, don't tell me he did all of that alone."

"Of course not," Harold said darkly.

Jack stretched his arms lazily. "Are you all finished talking? Because I'm about to take my leave. You won't be killing me today. There's still plot to be developed. The villain arc's just warming up."

"Where do you think you're going?!" Su Yueming shouted, swinging a punch at him.

"Come back!" Joyce called out after her, but she was already on the move.

Jack caught her fist midair. "Strong grip. Broad, muscular arms. Judging by that, I'd say your assets are probably big and round too."

"You pervert!" Su Yueming shrieked and tried to kick him.

Jack blocked her leg with ease. "Girl, you're clearly interested in me. Since that's the case, how could I possibly disappoint?"

"Attack!" Harold barked into the intercom.

Joyce looked up at the slanted glass window overhead. A military helicopter hovered just outside the KSI building. His expression changed dramatically.

"Attinger! Su Yueming is still—"

BOOM!

A missile ripped through the glass and exploded toward Jack, unleashing a tremendous shockwave of air and fire.
