"Sorry, what did you say?"
The word "Scholar of Original Sin" was not in the language of Draleon, and it took Shard a moment to barely understand its meaning:
"What is a Scholar of Original Sin?"
"Then you are not one."
The eerie old man shook his head and led Shard back toward the foyer:
"Your sins are high enough to ascend to the highest floor. Please come with me, guest; you will get what you desire."
After speaking, he no longer paid attention to Shard and made his way back toward the staircase. Shard immediately followed, knowing that wandering aimlessly in Sin Mansion without a Pathfinder could easily provoke an attack by the entities residing there.
The interior decoration of the building was rather uniform, somewhat resembling those noble mansions retrofitted with gas pipes. The gold decorations on the staircase and the cracked oil paintings on the walls all highlighted the grandeur of the house from the time when it was just an ordinary building.
