The joy of defeating the Flame Demon and obtaining the Demon Hunter's longsword marked a perfect end to the first week of the Month of Withered Leaves. However, on the next day, which was Monday, Shard had to once again face the trouble at hand.
The doctor arrived early, and Shard had him go directly to the Gate of Darkness in the underground chamber. Before breakfast, Shard sent a letter to the librarian, "Red Moon Witch" Miss Danester, via the pages of poetry in his hand, informing her that he had acquired the Yellow Moon Spirit Rune.
The reply arrived just after Shard had finished his breakfast, and after some brief preparations, he underwent the undead ritual with the four chairs, once again projecting himself from Saint Delan Square to the Academy Library in the Far North.
