Chapter 43 - Chapter One

"Even my little brother has found a mate before me. When will I get my happiness?" Leah growled, looking up at the sky for an answer. Then she laid down and closed her eyes.

As Leah bowed her head full of sadness, Embry appeared and sat beside her. No words were exchanged, Embry kissed her lips as the sun was setting.

She woke at the sound of her name being called out repeatedly by someone she least expected to see.

"Leah! Are you okay?" Embry asked.

"Oh hi Embry," Leah responded looking groggy and dazed, "Are you meeting someone here?" Leah asked.

"Yes I am," Leah turned her head away from him. "I mean I came to see you Leah," she turned her head slowly to face him.

"What! Why are you looking at me that way?"

"I don't know, I think I just hallucinated," Leah told him, shaking her head. She took her eyes off him and stared straight ahead. Embry couldn't take his eyes off her. He was mesmerised by the moonlight highlighting her features.

"You look stunning tonight," Embry blurted out.

"Embry! Are you alright? Are you high or something?"

"Yes I'm alright. I feel myself drawn to you. I've never felt anything like it," Embry confessed his feelings.

"Embry! What are you saying? Have you imprinted on me?" Leah asked, getting a little annoyed.

"Leah! If I had, would that be a bad thing, you know imprinting can't be helped," Embry reminded her.

"I know that, I'm sorry. I shouldn't jump to such conclusions, you know what I've been through," Leah unintentionally snapped at him.

"Yes I do know, I just thought you should know that I have had feelings for you even when you were dating Sam before he imprinted on Emily. Since then, I have just never had the courage to approach you, until now," Embry expressed.

"Embry, are you feeling ok? I'm sorry, I think you're sweet, but I'm just not into you in that way," Leah told him. She saw the sad look in his eyes before he turned his head away.

As the night went on, Embry left Leah and he didn't stop thinking about her until he fell asleep. It was the same for Leah as well, she spent the rest of the night thinking about Embry and no one to turn to.

The next morning Seth came, he knocked and pushed himself in and blurted out.

"Leah! You imprinted on Embry?"

"Seth, what are you doing in my room? Get out and no I didn't imprint on Embry. You know I can't do that, it's a guy thing," Leah shouted. Seth rushed out, closing the door, but he waited for her to come out.

An hour later Leah walked out of her bedroom to see Seth still standing there, but he wasn't his usual bubbly self and although she didn't look it, she was concerned.

"Seth?" Leah asked, before noticing he had wore a different expression than before, "what's wrong? What happened?" she asked with the sound of concern. She didn't feel any better when Seth didn't answer right-away. "Seth? You know I'm not very good at comforting people, but you are my little brother and I care a lot for you," Leah awkwardly expressed. Seth slowly turned to face Leah.

"Leah! I know you care about me, but I just don't want to burden you with my issues when you are dealing with your own," Seth admitted.

"It's alright Seth, I don't know, whatever this thing is with Embry it's nothing. So are you and Vlad doing alright?" Leah sidestepped and quickly changed the topic.

"Leah, are you serious? Embry has…" Seth paused, "Imprinted on you, it's not just a 'thing' it means something!" he whispered. "As for Vlad and I, well we are doing alright. I might be overthinking it a little, but I feel Vlad is hiding something from me," Seth told her.

"Well I'm no expert at expressing feelings as you know, although it is lonely, but though sometimes it is easier to bottle things up it's not actually good for you. I felt better when I told Jacob how I really felt when he was in love with Bella. So, maybe, express how you feel to Vlad," Leah advised.

"That could work, but why couldn't Ateara and Seth tell me that," Seth muttered.

"Oh! What did they say for you to do?" Leah asked, curiously.

"Not a lot. Just 'It's for you to figure out yourself'," Seth quoted.

"Yeah that's good advice too," Leah agreed, "You see little bro, everyone has different ways of dealing with situations, depending on the circumstances."

"Wow Leah that was actually pretty good advice coming from you," Seth praised, "You should remember that when you are with Embry again," He added.

As Leah was about to say something else, she heard a voice calling her name.

"Leah?... Leah?..." Embry called out.

"You better go to him Leah," Seth stated the obvious, before he heard Vlad calling him.

"Seth? Where are you?" Vlad called out, almost drowning out Embry's call.

"That sounded more serious than I liked to hear," Seth admitted and he shot off.
