Chapter 37 - Festival Preparations

As Flavian was on his way to the Berry palace, he found himself wrestling with doubt over his decision. He questioned whether he had made a rash choice that might backfire on him in the future. However, his overwhelming love for Leesa clouded his judgement. He believed that orchestrating a significant event was necessary to jolt Leesa's memory. If she could recall her life before, this shock would serve as a catalyst to bring back all her lost memories. Flavian felt remarkably confident about this plan.

When he reached the Berly palace it was too early in the morning, so he looked at some papers at his desk that needed his immediate attention and went into a slumber. The next day when Leesa returned to her duties and opened the office door to her surprise, Flavian was already sitting in his office and doing his work diligently.

"I thought you came extremely late yesterday and would be tired and might take the morning off."

"Well, here I am, my lady. Aren't I sincere?" asked Flavian, expecting to hear a few compliments from Leesa.

"I wouldn't say that to someone who impulsively went to meet his friend disguised as important work."

"Haha, yes, I apologise, my lady," sighed Flavian.

The days passed, and soon the Imperial Palace buzzed with activity as another day of relentless work unfolded. Leesa, Flavian, Elzar and Anton found themselves immersed in a whirlwind of tasks and responsibilities. From the moment they stepped foot into the grand halls, their schedules were packed with meetings, deadlines, and countless demands.

Anton, a meticulous and detail-oriented individual, was buried under a mountain of paperwork. His desk was strewn with files, reports, and memos that required his undivided attention. He also approves all festival budget-related documents, and he ensures that they are thoroughly discussed with Leesa before the development process begins. Every document held vital information that needed to be carefully analysed and processed. Anton's focus never wavered as he diligently worked his way through the seemingly endless pile.

Within the grand confines of the palace, Leesa, a brilliant strategist, was fully immersed in the intricate process of analysing complex data and devising strategies for the upcoming festival. Her mind raced with possibilities ranging from budgetary needs, such as permits, entertainment expenses, and stall arrangements, to estimating the expected turnout and implementing crowd safety measures. She painstakingly crafted a comprehensive blueprint for the event, methodically calculating each element to achieve the utmost efficiency. Leesa's dedication to her work was unwavering, as she tirelessly pursued perfection in her quest to guide the festival toward success.

Meanwhile, Flavian, a master of diplomacy, found himself juggling multiple responsibilities. His day was filled with negotiations, mediations, and delicate conversations with other nobles that required his utmost tact and grace. Flavian's ability to navigate through the intricate web of politics and maintain harmony between conflicting parties was unmatched. Despite the immense pressure, he remained composed and handled each situation with finesse.

Amidst the swirl of festivities at the grand festival, Elzar, under Leesa's direction, conducted meticulous surveys alongside the diligent imperial guards. Their shared mission was to safeguard the sprawling grounds preparing for the festival ahead. Some guards were stationed at the gates of the capital for security checking the goods that were transported for the festival. Elzar, with a keen eye for detail, led the inspections. He conferred with the guards, each clad in their resplendent uniforms, ensuring that they understood the importance of their duty. Their stern expressions and vigilant postures reflect the gravity of the task at hand.

Together, they combed through the festival grounds, scrutinising every nook and cranny. Elzar's experienced gaze evaluated the structural integrity of the stages and stalls, surveying them for any potential hazards. The guards, following his lead, checked the perimeters for signs of tampering or intrusion. Communication was seamless between the teams. They maintained a watchful eye on the carriages. Elzar and the guards knew that their presence was not just about protection; it was about creating an atmosphere of security that allowed people to prepare for the festivities without worry.

As the day progressed, the four individuals continued to pour their energy and expertise into their respective duties. The Imperial Palace was a hive of activity, with each person contributing their unique skills to the smooth functioning of the empire's great festival. The weight of their responsibilities was palpable, but they soldiered on, driven by their unwavering dedication to their roles.

The sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the Imperial Palace. Leesa, Flavian, Elzar and Anton finally allowed themselves a moment of respite, albeit brief. The day had been long and arduous, but they knew that their hard work was essential to the success of the festival. As the palace gradually quieted down, the four individuals, though tired, a sense of accomplishment filled their hearts. They had persevered through a busy day at the Imperial Palace, tackling a multitude of tasks and responsibilities with unwavering determination. The doors of their rooms closed behind them, marking the end of another demanding day. Leesa, Flavian, Elzar and Anton knew that rest awaited them, but they also knew that tomorrow would bring new challenges, demanding their unwavering commitment once again.

Within these tiring days, Leesa found some time to go and meet Byrant who was apparently in the palace's kitchen with Paul, who was busy discussing some matters with the head chef and had left Byrant free.

"Hello there lil bro, done with the meeting you told me about in the letter?" asks Leesa, finding them a place to sit in the bustling kitchen.

"Hey sis, no not yet but guess what I was not invited to the discussion in the first place," says Byrant, describing his uselessness there.

"Then why are you even here?"

"Well, my teacher insisted on bringing me here."

"I see. So, what have you been doing here all the time?"

"Passing my time, looking at the other cooks making stuff."
