Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Invitation From The Palace

As the unexpected pair took to the dance floor, many of the nobles could not help but fix their gaze upon them. It was an unprecedented sight, as no one had ever imagined that the seemingly workaholic crown prince would choose a dance partner for himself. The revelation sparked curiosity and intrigue among the onlookers. For many, it was their first encounter with Leesa, and they only became aware of her identity when her title was announced alongside the duke's.

As Flavian and Leesa danced, their coordination was flawless. They moved together with grace and precision, capturing the attention of everyone around them. People could not help but steal glances at this perfect masterpiece unfolding before their eyes. Even the emperor and empress were amazed, momentarily forgetting that it was their workaholic son who was gracefully dancing with a captivating beauty. It was as if they were witnessing a match made in heaven. The synchrony of their steps and the chemistry between them was undeniable, reinforcing the notion that those who can dance in perfect harmony are genuinely meant for each other.

While they danced Flavian took this chance to softly whisper to Lessa excitedly "About your gift my lady, I shall send you an official invitation soon."

"To where Your Highness? I just requested a dish you might have enjoyed and found delicious."

"Yes, I know, that's exactly what I am giving you."

"I'd rather have you just send the dish to the duke's residence, Your Highness," said Leesa, not interested to meet Flavian again as she presumed, he sounded suspicious.

"No, my lady, I insist. You will not regret coming over," spoke Flavian confidently.

"If you say so," said Leesa, giving up. 'Let's see what happens, not like I can't get out of anything'.

The next morning, Leesa and Byrant are in the library. Byrant diligently focused on completing his homework, while Leesa immersed herself in a book on history. Although the book appeared to be about general historical events, Leesa's true fascination lay in the detailed accounts of past wars. As she delved deeper into the pages, her mind became consumed by the strategies, battles, and the profound impact these conflicts had on the empires.

Byrant getting bored asks Leesa "Sis, why did you suddenly agree to have a dance with the crown prince, you never showed any interest in taking up a dancing partner, whenever we went to any event you just sat and ate."

"Well, I don't know, I just felt like it, no particular reason."

"Hmm, that's the first time you showed any interest, how could I not be curious?"

"So now that I answered back to studying Byrant, you're not getting your way out of your homework by talking with me."

"Damm, I got caught"

"U-huh"

As time passed, Byrant's eyelids grew heavy, and he began to doze off during his homework. Unbeknownst to Leesa, her curiosity had completely captivated her, causing her to forget about keeping an eye on her drowsy brother. It was not until the afternoon sun had started to cast its warm glow in the library that the butler entered, reminding them of Byrant's upcoming culinary lesson. Leesa's eyes darted to her slumbering brother and, without hesitation, she lightly bonked his head, jolting him awake. Byrant, still half-asleep, muttered, "I am studying, sis." Leesa chuckled softly and replied, "Yeah, I know how, but you need to get up now, or you'll be late for your cooking lesson."

Upon hearing Leesa's reminder, Byrant swiftly rose from his seat, shaking off the remnants of drowsiness. He bid farewell to his sister and headed towards the door, where a group of armed men, assigned as his bodyguards by the Duke, awaited him. They would accompany him outside, ensuring his safety during his culinary lessons and other outings. Byrant acknowledges their presence with a nod, and together they set off towards Paul's restaurant.

As Leesa remained determined to continue her reading for a while longer before embarking on her secret training. The butler informed Leesa that Weinne shall bring her a light supper.

"Sure Frederik, please let Weinne know, I would like some sandwiches."

"Yes, my lady," answered the butler with a bow and made his exit.

Moments later, Weinne entered the library with a tray of aromatic and relaxing tea, with some nutrient sandwiches. Leesa savoured her supper while engrossed in her reading. After an hour or so, feeling satisfied, Leesa prepared herself to venture into the woods for her daily practice, with Weinne as her companion.

Later, after indulging in a refreshing bath, Leesa appeared to prepare for dinner. Just as she was getting ready, Weinne hurriedly entered the room, holding a letter illuminated with the royal stamp. Leesa immediately realised it was a letter from Flavian.

"My lady you have received a letter from the Royal palace," announced Weinne and handed the letter to Leesa.

The contents of the letter read,
