Kevin, after hearing Axel casually mention that he was going to have to spend a lot of time with another man, felt a nameless fury seize him instantly. Suddenly, the rational part of his brain reminded him of a piece of information that seemed very important: "Erik? Alan's boyfriend?"
Axel nodded, and Kevin looked relieved. "No worries then! When I have the time, I will go see him during his training to see how good he is, and I'll see how I can help him."
Axel then asked, curious about his reaction, "What is it, Kev? Why do you seem relieved that it's Alan's boyfriend?"
Kevin answered honestly, "Well, you just told me that you would have to spend a lot of time with another man. The fact that he's Alan's boyfriend would prevent me from wanting to cut his throat every time I see him with you."
Axel chuckled, but his laughter stopped when he saw that Kevin seemed really serious. "Babe, you can't be serious, can you?"
Kevin frowned and replied, "I'm dead serious. Why?"
