There was silence after that. Silence loud enough that it caused everyone's ears to ring and whistle. Even Louis, who had already had an idea of what Riley was about to do, covered his face in frustration.
Well, at the very least, he reacted. The others were completely frozen in place. Even the lady of the house, who was right beside the emissary of the Church of Fate and was holding his hand, was like a statue.
Her eyes didn't even blink or move even when some of the emissary's blood splashed onto her face when Riley caved his chest in. As for the young lady Janine, if it wasn't for Louis gently turning her face away, she would still be staring at the emissary's corpse.
As for the healers who were in the midst of healing the emissary, their hands were now just hovering in the air.
