I was floating in clouds with birds and dragons of different sizes and colors were flying in groups or by them. The air had a sense of laziness. Some dragons appear to be snorkeling with the snouts in the air while the rest of their bodies were submerged in the crystal clear lagoon below. I flew up to the highest cloud. Then I dived till my nose touched the sea and shot up in the air. I noticed an island had appeared out of nowhere. I think it resembled a snake with trees all around but exposed rock along the center. I thought I was looking at its spine. Birds flapping their wings open and shut in slow motion and I had a feeling that something weird was going on. It took me a moment to realize that I was inside a mind maze. This is an endless spiral. To make matters serious I am sure that I am guarded by at least a few dragons. The cutest baby dragon in human form poked me and answered, "We are taking turns looking after you. It's the mermaid's turn to watch you. Next is the Hydra's turn. Mine is next year. Enjoy your nap. You've earned it dear." I kissed his rosie chubby cheeks and he blushed deepest red before vanishing. The sky was clear and the lagoon looked free of any sort of nightmare. So I took a dive. I swam with multicolored fishes.
I saw a breathtakingly beautiful cove. The opening starred in the ocean floor and it reached a few meters above waves. The path was illuminated. The feeling I got from there was serenity so I swam in. I heard the siren call. I knew that I should stuff my fingers in my ears. Soon the sound dimmed and I was able to swim till I reached an opening that led me inland. The trees were tall and wide. The leaves were dark green and plentiful. The sunlight was barely able to penetrate because of the dense foliage. The air smelled of brine but as I kept walking the air started to smell floral. Fruits of every sort were decorated all over and some looked seriously enticing. I was about to pluck a burgundy colored fruit when I heard a snoring that grew louder as I got closer to the rocky center. The sound felt deep and deadly. I felt like it was a warning. If you wake me up you will suffer. I followed the sound till I saw three dragons snoring soundly. It was as though someone had put them to sleep while they were guarding some sort of treasure. One was small with stubby snout and spikes on the length of its spine. The hard and slightly curved scales were pewter colored and were overlapping one another like armor. The other was tall and thin with rough slate gray skin that resembled rows of sharp serrated teeth overlapping one another. Its wings wrapped itself around it like a blanket. While the last one was neither big nor small. It was fat with no wings. The smooth and glossy fishscale skin was ash gray.
Suddenly the smallest opened its eyes. The beast let out a mighty roar and I had no choice but to scamper out of there. I think I made a few paces and then claws wrapped themselves around my waist. I was lifted a few meters in the air and flung into the sea. I was gasping for air and then I saw the whirlpool. I have a feeling it is wake up time. It usually involves scared the heck out of me. I tried to swim away from it but the water was too strong. I saw a bird and so I decided flying is the best option. One dragon grabbed me and threw me into the whirlpool. I spun like I was inside a merry-go-round on steroids. The things spun to the point that I wanted to puke. I had enough and so I jumped into the center. I was dragged like a rag doll through a tunnel filled to the brim with water. So I had to hold my breath as the current pushed me forward. Soon the tunnel began to look dangerous. What I mean is I thought I saw a school of sharks swimming like it was dinner time. I was praying for any chance that I would slip past these things unnoticed. I was shoved into the center of these gliding monsters. The sharks spun in circles as they tried to decide whether I should be their dinner or just ignored me as a rule. I felt something at my feet. I looked down to see a saltwater crocodile. I started to hyperventilate. I swam as fast as my legs would let me. The moment I got fresh oxygen was the moment I flew into the air. A dragon grabbed me and threw me in the direction of the cove where my body was resting on a bed of seaweed. With Tiamat, Zuni, Arroyo and Huyang surrounding my body. I slammed into my body and felt like hitting concrete.
I woke up with a jolt screamed in pain to see Viridian staring down at me with boredom. I felt weak and about to collapse. A woman was dragged to the cove for me to feed on. After which I was shoved on to the seaweed mattress. An angry Tiamat pressed her scaly fingers on my forehead and put me in a trance. The cove started spinning and I passed out. The lights switched on I saw that I was hovering above an island that resembles an eye. The mountain was the pupil while the land mass was the cornea. The surrounding coral formation made it look like eyelashes and the inside was the white of the eye except it was holding turquoise waters so perstine that I could see the bottom with no problem. I slowly got down and wondered what was happening. It started to rain and I ran for cover. The trees offered very little shade so my only option was to run for the mountain. There was a fissure wide enough for me to fit right in. I sat there calmly waiting to stop so I could play explorer. I got out to see a bunch of huge crocodiles standing perfectly still with their mouths wide open. Their eyes fixed in my direction. I swore like a sailor that I am going to throttle the person who put me in the company of these beasties. The kraken would have been a better company. These guys made a noise that made me wish the sand would swallow me. I screamed and I was pulled out of the dream.
Drakov was staring and so was the angry Arroyo. I was hyperventilating and all I said was crocodile. Yue explained my fear of certain creatures. Drakov said to make the scenery less frightening so I won't be agitated. I said that I prefer being awake. Drakov didn't like it one bit but I reminded him that I am a neutral running a hotel. What if someone comes asking for protection in the form of sanctuary and I am absent. The disaster that would come with it. Drakov said that he would think about it but for now I can get some fresh air. Five hydras, four manticores and a dozen baby dragons followed me in a single file. I could see the smoke still billowing after
Arroyo toasting the Bosquets. I have a feeling that these things are going to make a return trip. I sat down to observe a person from the cannibal tribes eating Tiamat's leftovers like it was his birthday present. The man ate what was left and chucked the bones for his dog to chew on. Then he got up and gave me a few grunts before walking back to his village.
The baby dragons started jumping up and down asking to see things. I showed them the mind maze I was in. After the kids squealed in delight a curious manticore stepped forward and I showed it what I showed the kids. The beast was frozen for a moment then he went looking for his cousin demanding answers. I jumped into the water only to jump out because I almost landed on a shark about to eat its dinner. I managed to swoop up before hitting the water so the beast managed to enjoy its meal undisturbed. The kids thought my actions were hilarious so they fell on the sand and rolled over laughing. Drakov came with his cousin and he stared as I flew into the air. I felt the warmth of the sun on my skin. The cool breeze brushed past me. I opened my eyes to see Drakov in his dragon form flying beside. So I climbed his back and he flew me all over before he landed and curled up to sleep.
Arroyo came wanting to know if I should be sent to Matti or Drogon. I said that I am going to Montezuma to sort my hotel back in order. Since there is likely to be some sort of disaster just waiting to happen. Arroyo asked me what I meant. I simply said, "I can feel it in my bones that something is about to happen. Something bad. I need to start preparing. So should you." Angharad came with her maid Lin. She was huffing and puffing for a moment. A full minute later she got her voice back, "It's Perseus. He broke out of prison and he is trying to reach Drogon Isle. He wants a dragon egg." I looked at her and I said, "My dear Drogon's Isle is a myth. It doesn't exist. If it did I would have been there." Lin gave me a suspicious look. I politely looked at the dragons and they smiled as they themselves confirmed that Drogon's Isle is a myth. As Angharad turned to talk to Zuni her maid Lin quietly snuck off. So I followed her to find out what she was up to. She used a two way mirror to inform Perseus that Drogon's Isle doesn't exist. The dragons confirmed that the isle is a myth. As soon as she was done. Angharad cut off her head and snatched the mirror. Perseus ended the conversation but Angharad managed to track him down and soon people from both sides went full force to get their pound of flesh.
