Markos staggered like something stuck him despite nothing being around him. He held his sides and tried to catch his breath.
"Markos!" Sintija was at his side first, her hand against his shoulder as she tried to steady him. "What was that? I felt something."
Markos shook his head and tried to focus his senses on what disturbance had hit him. "It was like a part of myself was…" His eyes widened and he tore away from Sintija, running for his horse.
Sintija ran after him, quickly matching his pace. "Tell me! Damn it! What is happening?" She demanded.
Markos only spared her a moment's glance. "Emilio is in the grips of something related to this. I can not let him die like this!"
Krista suddenly appeared in front of his horse. He was not sure where his mother had come from and in this moment he did not care. She pressed her hand against the horse's nose as it pawed at the ice leaden earth anxiously.
