Prudence moved carefully, every step slow and deliberate as she kept close to the shadows, her eyes darting nervously at the faint light ahead. The old factory area was rundown, except for the few houses nearby, the only path she could take to escape. Her foot throbbed with pain, but she had no choice. If she wanted freedom, she had to get past those houses without being seen. Specially the warehouse she was held captive.
Nearby, the men who had kidnapped her were gathered, their voices low but filled with a tired amusement.
