New Week
Azuka had spent the past few days getting familiar with the mansion, quietly observing his sister's new life. He was beginning to get a sense of the grandeur that came with her new world, but it wasn't just the mansion that caught his attention—it was the mysterious man, Xavier. He was still trying to understand his sister's connection to Xavier, the cold and dangerous man who seemed to be at the center of her life. But for now, Azuka kept to himself, careful not to make waves while getting a sense of everything around him.

Becca sat on a chair, changing her posture several times and maintaining an elegance as cameras flashed, capturing stunning photos of her and Vanessa as the main models for the combined fashion textile production that the company was going to launch by the next month. It was going to be a big hit for Elsa Dumorée's fashion enterprise and Yang Clothing and Fashion Industry.
"Alright everyone... take five," the managing director said as they were done with the first round of pictures to use as the magazine and banner.
Becca stood up to rest. As she walked, everything seemed abnormal. Slowly, the bantering and chattering of everyone working faded, and the light became so bright that she felt light-headed. The last thing she could remember was someone rushing her out, her body in his arms, into a car.
Xavier had just arrived at Elsa Dumorée's enterprise, flowers in hand. He'd promised himself to be true to her, to stop treating her like a sex slave, and to get committed to her. He was willing to give love a second chance. He sighed and breathed in and out before entering.
Just as he entered, he saw panicked faces, with a patient yet chubby silhouette in the arms of another man. At first, he snubbed the situation, but when he noticed the bracelet he had given Becca in the person's familiar arms, he rushed toward them and took her.
"Who are you?" Mike couldn't help but ask at the dangerous, cold, but gorgeous-looking man who had just taken their stunning newbie, whom he'd been secretly eyeing, away from his hands.
"Her boyfriend," Xavier said coldly, letting out a dangerously freezing aura that made the man sweat cold blood and shiver as he handed Becca over to the CEO of Chen's Company.
Xavier drove like a madman, ignoring traffic lights and overtaking cars and trucks on the road. He hadn't confessed to his woman yet, and now something had happened. He wouldn't forgive himself if something bad happened to her while under his watch.
Now that he remembered, what was he paying those useless guards for if they couldn't protect his woman well? He didn't have much time to think about those bastards as he stared at Becca's unconscious body in the back seat.
Xavier arrived at his family hospital and left Becca in the care of his family doctor while he phoned Raymond about what happened. Xavier was on the verge of exploding. He couldn't control his emotions; there were so many things he was feeling right now: fear, insecurity, pain, anger, and embarrassment.
Yes, he was embarrassed because he wasn't able to guide her like he promised. But, on the other hand, he wasn't sure what he felt. She had told him she was fine, maybe because she felt she was bothering him or because she wasn't very comfortable with him. He had nonchalantly agreed with her, and now look at her. Through the transparent glass of her ward, she was being checked and examined by the nurses and doctors.
After about 35 minutes, Doctor Ben came out with a sigh of relief and looked at the worried Xavier. "Come with me, we have to talk."
As Xavier followed, he felt his arm being pulled by someone. He turned back and found Raymond. "Let's go."
The doctor then told Xavier what he had examined. "She's pregnant, Xavier. Not just that, she's sore, and it's not good for her... she's stressed out and lacking blood... it's not good for a pregnant lady, especially one who wants to keep her baby."
"She's... p... pr... pregnant?" Raymond asked, looking at Xavier with a knowing eye.
"Yes, 7 weeks. That's why she's getting fatter and her flat tummy is getting round."
Now that Xavier remembered, he noticed. Two days ago, when he got home, she had slept off in her office clothes, and he was the one who bathed her and cleaned her up. He had noticed that her perfectly flat tummy was starting to have a little bump. So, he was going to be a father soon, and that was the reason behind her sickness.
"Please, for now... avoid... sexual intercourse... you two tend to do a lot of that... as... I noticed she's sore... and again, she should eat more veggies and food that supply blood."
Soon, Xavier sent for fruits and Becca's things while he watched her. She slept for about 3 hours. It was evident that she lacked enough sleep and was really stressed, accompanied by her little snores.
"Mm," Becca moaned, and Xavier almost flew toward her.
"Where am I?"
"In the hospital, love... it's okay... you're fine now... you only fainted."
"Hmm... So, what did the doctor say?"
"You're pregnant."
