CH1096: Battle of Kismayo Marine Base I
Kismayo, Somalia.
Kismayo was a port city in the Southern Somalia territory. In fact, it is the commercial capital of the Faasoolya Coalition's Southern Somalia territory. The city is located about 530 kilometres from the country's capital, Mogadishu, along the south-eastern coast, near the mouth of the Juba River, where it empties into the Indian Ocean.
The city was, at one time, under the total control of the ASB after the initial civil war in the country. However, with help from neighbouring Kenyan and Ethiopian forces, the Faasoolya Coalition -serving as representatives of the Somali people- recovered the city from the country's main (true) insurgent group.
Since recovering the city, the Faasoolya Coalition has guarded the city strictly. While the Coalition has its administrative headquarters in Bu'aale, Kismayo city provides the bulk of the revenue keeping the collective interests of the Faasoolya Coalition afloat.
