Mexico City, Mexico.
It is the capital of Mexico as well as its largest city. It is also the most populous city in North America.
Mexico city is located in a large valley in the high plateau at the centre of Mexico called the valley of Mexico. The city is the oldest city in the Americas as well as being one of the only two founded by the indigenous folk. It was originally built on a group of islands in Lake Texcoco by the Mexica (Aztecs)
Despite being the country's capital city, the residents of the city have the right to elect a head of government and members of a legislative assembly in an election. However, a clause in the country's constitution prevents it from being a fully run state in the country unless the capital and seat of power is shifted elsewhere.
