Benjamin Jones heard Abigail's murmurs to herself. Feeling distressed, he reached out and patted her shoulder. "It's okay, Abby, it's okay."
"Hmm." Abigail snapped out of it and raised her glass toward Benjamin. "Come on, let's celebrate our reunion."
"Sure." Benjamin lightly clinked her glass. Amid the laughter of the children, it wasn't out of place, yet it tugged at his heart.
Abigail smiled and took a sip. Just then, Teddy wiggled his small body towards her under the applause of Lena Locke and the others. Abigail quickly set down her glass, got off the chair, and squatted in front of him, extending her arms.
The little guy immediately sped up and threw himself into Abigail's arms, causing a burst of laughter.
Benjamin looked at Abigail's back, a shadow of sadness in his eyes. His private phone suddenly rang, and he frowned as he picked it up. "Who is this?"
