The control of the Holy Palace needed to be personally transferred by the Guardian. The Holy Palace, this Holy Artifact, was actually brought forth by the Guardian. The purpose, of course, was to ensure that the Holy Master would not let the various forces of the continent overthrow him.
Whenever a Holy Master's lifespan neared its end, they had to hand back the control of the Holy Palace.
