Hills Village, being near the lakeside area, was enveloped by a moist fog that drifted across from the surface of the lake.
Twin dim headlights pierced through the mist, guiding an antique strange beetle sedan through the tranquil and tidy main road of this wealthy village. Then, quite suddenly, it veered into a seemingly neglected path, departing from the primary area, where the fog seemed even thicker.
The sedan drove on for quite some time. As time passed, it should have been approaching seven or eight in the morning, yet the area illuminated by the headlights showed no signs of expanding.
"How much longer? Isn't this place exclusively for the rich? The main road and its surroundings look nice, but all this is so strange."
In the back seat of the car, a girl dressed in overalls, styled like a tomboy, curiously observed the scenery outside the window.
She was talking to a middle-aged couple sitting in the front.
