Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 The Tears

Rooftop Confession – Continued

After standing there in silence, the only thing that stumbled out of my mouth was,

"Bakugou… I… I don't know what to say."

"I do! She's going to say no!"

The voice came from the shadows by the rooftop door. I turned quickly.

"T-Todoroki?! What are you doing up here?!"

He stepped into the fading light, calm as ever.

"I saw you run down the hall," he said. "So I followed you… and I'm glad I did. I just saved you from making a huge mistake."

Bakugou's eyes narrowed, and he stormed toward Todoroki.

"Shut up, bastard!"

"No one asked for your opinion," Todoroki shot back.

"So take your 'no' and shove it up your ass!"

Bakugou turned back to me, eyes blazing.

" Sarah—when you're ready, come find me."

And with that, he disappeared into the dark hallway, but not before flashing the smallest, most heart-wrenching smile.

I stood frozen, torn. What just happened?

Then Todoroki stepped closer, gently leaned in, and kissed my forehead.

"I couldn't just let him have you," he said softly. "You're special… pure. Someone like you shouldn't belong to someone like him. You should be with me."

And just like that, he left.

I stood there under the stars, all alone—confused, heart racing, and unsure of what to feel. Two boys. Two hearts. And one very complicated choice.

The Next Day – Belles Roses Café

"Good morning, Master!" I said with a bright smile.

The customer lit up. "Wow, you're super cute."

"Haha, thank you, Master. Your seat is ready—please follow me!"

Despite the emotional storm from last night, I tried to stay focused. But the tension between Todoroki and Bakugou was so thick, I could practically cut it with a spoon. They wouldn't even look at each other. All I wanted was to survive my first day without dropping too many things or making enemies.

"Excuse me," a customer called. "Could I get another drink?"

"Right away, sir!" I smiled and rushed off.

Later That Day

To my surprise, my first shift actually went great. The customers were kind, and I even had fun. Sure, I broke a few plates and spilled way too many drinks, but people still tipped me. I guess they liked the effort… or the uniform.

" Sarah."

I turned around. "Yes, Bakugou! Coming!"

I shut my locker and jogged out the door to walk back to the dorms with the group. But the silence between Bakugou and Todoroki made every step feel like a marathon. No talking. No glances. Nothing.

I tried to break the tension.

"Hey, so… about last night—"

Nothing.

Again. "I just think maybe we should talk about it —"

Still nothing.

And the longer the silence went on, the heavier it got. I couldn't take it anymore. I jumped in front of them, blocking their path.

"Can we PLEASE talk about what happened last night?!"

They didn't say a word. They didn't even look at me. They just brushed past like I wasn't even there.

I stood there, humiliated and angry, tears burning in my eyes. And then I ran.

I didn't know what to feel. I didn't know what to do. I just wanted to talk. To understand. But they're so full of pride and anger that it's like… I don't even matter to them.

I can't… I can't… I CAN'T EVEN DEAL WITH THEM!
