Chi Ya made her way to the Reception Room with practiced ease, sipping the coffee brought by the secretary while anxiously waiting for Chi Jianguo to conclude his meeting.
After a full half-hour wait, the door to the Conference Room finally opened.
Having grown impatient, she abruptly stood up, about to call out to the man in charge who was emerging from the meeting, when she heard his voice, barely concealing his rage, "Hasn't Ryan stopped the acquisition?"
"Yes, President Chi."
"And the bank? What did the bank say? Didn't I tell you to contact them about a loan?"
"The bank has denied our loan application, stating that our company is undergoing an acquisition and, according to regulations, cannot partake in lending services."
"Damn it!"
Chi Jianguo was so infuriated he cursed out loud.
