Chapter 101 - she holds death like a feather

He didn't know how long he could stand watching his mistress spouting nonsense and blowing out of his mind with more of her out of the world knowledge. He couldn't keep it up. It seems watching her, would make one blow their mind up and become a blubbering idiot.

A few days ago, a bird like monster had Draka's skin inside it's nest. It's typical for bird type monsters to be attracted to something shiny and beautiful. Anything shiny will catch their attention and they'll swipe it to their nest. From the look of it, the bird was not that powerful to be able to peck the skin off from a Draka. None could even come close to it, since the Draka's presence was too much to handle. It must've fallen off from an injured Draka and the monster bird had managed to swipe it away back to it's nest. While it fly away, few monsters came on the nest and fought to take the scale. The scale had fallen off from the nest and accidentally it was around where Iiyana fought with the disaster level monster.w

His mistress while killing the disaster level with a metal pan and some weird shape of knife, took it into her spatial space together with the purple stone. Just imagine, if his jaw could drop, it would drop down the floor seeing his mistress beat a disaster level comically easy.

It was known that monster could destroy a whole city and she used what? Some kind of sprouts, hacking its ever so tough skin with weird looking knife. Some would even vomit blood if they see how the monster died just like that.

After his mistress picked it unconsciously, he saw the birds circling around the nest and the area. Hunting for what it had lost. The bird is another disaster level monster but its nothing I front of Draka. One level apart but that wide gap apart. Its just like a cat for Draka to easily squish it.

Hidden under shadow and spell, the spy lay flat on the jagged ridge, his breathing shallow, gaze fixed on the woman below.

And what she held in her hand… was madness.

No. Worse.

It was a Draka scale.

Not any scale, but one that shimmered with a hypnotic, iridescent glow, shifting between shades of molten gold and abyssal blue, like the sky bleeding into fire.

She was turning it between her fingers with casual curiosity, like a child admiring a river stone.

"What in the name of the gods is she doing?" the spy thought, sweat dripping down his back. "Put it down, woman. That thing is cursed. Sacred. Deadly."

His heart pounded as his mind raced.

he got another headache coming. why is his mistress holding out that Draka scale openly like that? She doesnt know another bird monster was on a look out for the thief that had stolen its prized possession!

"Is she trying to summon her death?"

He scanned the skies frantically. The monster bird—the one that had probably stolen the scale from a wounded Draka—wasn't too far off when he last tracked it. These types of beasts were obsessive when it came to shiny things, especially trophies like that.

And yet… Iiana looked unbothered.

She was muttering to herself, scribbling something with mana-chalk on a flat obsidian slab while the scale floated lazily above her palm.

Iiana was muttering by herself.

"Maybe if I align the core's frequency with the scale's pulse rate… I could sync it with the spatial tear." "Or since it have shield characteristics, I could try to put some mana in it and see if it have any reaction.. maybe I could use it as it is.."

The spy's jaw nearly unhinged.

"Sync… the what!? Is she trying to use the Draka scale as a—oh gods—she is."

His heart sank further.

She wasn't just holding the scale—she was planning to use it as a freaking conduit.. Or worse, glowing beacon to call for their death!

And if that bird monster realized its prized treasure was missing… was just around it.

"I don't get paid enough for this," he whispered, slowly backing away into the mist, keeping a hand on his dagger.

He had witness his mistress strength to beat a disaster level spider. But that was a land type. Monsters that could move in two types of landscape is even harder. Which is why drakka was feared among all known monster. Monster that could move on land and sky, or could move on land and water.. Drakka that could move on land, sky and space.. almost laughed in agony just thinking about it.

That bird could kill them in heart beat.

Because if that scale glowed any brighter, and the bird returned…

They were all dead.
