Chapter 5 - Being a Hero

Its been one month since Kaito Sensei started training me in martial Arts. He started teaching Judo, Tae-kwon-Do, Aikido, Karate and Muay Thai, on a rotational basis.

Monday, we started with Tae-kwon-Do and a moderately intensive lower body workout.

Tuesday, we focused on Judo and a light core workout.

Wednesday, focused on Karate and a moderately intensive upper body workout.

Thursday, we focused on Aikido and stamina building exercises.

Finally on Friday we focused on Muay Thai and intensive full-body workout, that often left me bordering on unconsciousness.

The weekends were left for me to rest and recuperate for the following week's training.

I usually spent my free time writing about various Heroes that I see in my day to day life or in the future. Stuff like their Quirk's abilities, strengths and weakness, countermeasures I would take against them and how popular they could be.

I guess old habits die hard. I also decided to do the same thing with the Villains that I see or will see.

This continued until today, I decided to go out and play with some kids my age. The main reason I chose to do so, is because I don't want that one kid to get hurt.

I came upon the kid, in question, being bullied by kacchan and two other bullies. He's crying and it looks like hit not too long ago.

I bend over and ask "Are you alright?"

While sobbing away he says "It hurts, it hurts."

"Don't worry, I won't let them hurt you anymore."

I get up and turn to face Kacchan.

"Kacchan…. Why are you being so mean? If you don't stop… I'll stop you myself."

I get into a fighting stance, ready to protect the kid behind me.

Kacchan chuckles a bit and asks "You wanna pretend to be a hero?"

The two beside him start manifesting their quirks. One of them grows red dragon-like wings from his back, while the other raises his hand and his fingers start extending until they are a couple feet long.

Kacchan smacks a fist into his palm "bang" and creates a small explosion. "You don't stand a chance without a Quirk."

He gives me an evil smile and says "Deku."

That doesn't mean what you think it means anymore kacchan. I look at him with determination and say "no matter what you say….. I won't let you bully him Kacchan!"

All three of the bullies charge at me, but of course I know Kacchan's fighting style the best so he shouldn't be to hard to fight.

Kacchan charges at me with a right hook, I step into him and direct his punch at the finger-extender bully. Kacchan realizes too late and ends up letting off an explosion in his face, knocking him down and out.

The dragon-like bully manages to hit me twice before I turn and sweep him off his feet and hit him a few times.

Kacchan doesn't lag behind and lands a explosion filled punch on me, which sends me to the ground.

I get up as quick as I can, but there Kacchan is again with another punch. Since I don't have much to lose, while I get punched down to the ground, I kick my legs up at his chin.

Kacchan is knocked down, but not out, as he gets up to deal with me. He sends a few punches my way before he stops and walks over to the other two bullies.

"GET UP!" Kacchan kicks them in the side to get them to stand up.

"We are leaving" He takes one more look over at me, and then turns around hauling the other two with him.

I slowly get up and walk over to the boy I protected "Hey, it's alright now. See I told you I wouldn't let them hurt you anymore."

"Thanks, Izuku…. you're really strong." he says while wiping away his tears.

"No.. not really, I still have a long way to go."

"I see… I'm gonna go home now I'll see you later" he waves his hand at me

"Bye" I say waving back as he runs off.

Crap, how am I going to explain this to mom and Kaito-Sensei? Oh well, I'll just tell them honestly what happened.

I decide to hurry back home only to find a distraught mother and a serious sensei waiting on the couch.

Upon seeing me my mother exclaims "Izuku, honey. What happened? How did you get these bruises?"

"I'm alright mom, I just got into a little fight with Kacchan."

Kaito-Sensei suddenly looks very angry and asks "Izuku… did you just say you got into a fight?"

"Yes I did Kaito-Sensei" I replied visibly nervous.

"What did I tell you on your first day of training Izuku?"

"Not to get into fights, and to use your training for good."

"Yes Izuku. Now tell me, why did you start a fight with this Kacchan?"

"I'm sorry Kaito-Sensei, but I had to fight Kacchan. He was bullying a kid from our class. If I'm ever going to become a hero, I can't just stand by while others are getting hurt."

His face softens considerably "I understand your reasoning, young Izuku, and I even think you did the right thing if that is the case."

I relax after hearing that, I'm glad he understands that I couldn't just sit there and do nothing.

"However, judging by your injuries, it looks like we need to go over basic self-defense in detail after the weekend is over."

"Yes, Sensei."

"Alright, why don't you take the day off from training and let your mother treat your wounds."

"Okay, Kaito-Sensei."

"Inko, you should be proud of your son. Even with his training, it still isn't easy to protect another person without a quirk."

"I know, but I can't help but worry that he is getting hurt too much."

"That's why I want him to focus more on self-defense next week, that way he won't get hurt as often if he decides to stand up to the bullies again."

"Alright" my mom turns to me "let's get you cleaned up and your injuries treated."

"Okay, mom."

"Goodbye Kaito, thanks again for everything."

"It's not a problem Inko, Izuku is quite talented and I want to see how far he will go to pursue his dreams. Have a good night, my disciple."

"Goodnight, Sensei."

Mom takes me into the bathroom and cleans and disinfects my wounds and after that we get ready to go to sleep.
