When William first met Sebastian John, he had two souls, and when he was dying in his hands, both had one and a half.
William Ultras was no more than an ordinary jeweler, so ordinary that no one, not even himself, ever thought he was the reincarnation of the lover of Ozhem’s legendary wizard. He dreamed of a long life with a happily ever-after ending, but when the Shadow Army emerged from the deep darkness they had waited in for centuries, they placed a coffin carrying the name of William Ultras in the center of Ozhem. The Ozhemians didn’t hesitate to surrender the next victim to his true master, Sebastian John, whom they believed was the reason for this everlasting peace.
But William’s greed to breathe drove him to Sunless, the land of eternal darkness, where he sought the help of Griffin, the ruling wizard, to end the cursed circle of his deaths. But Sebastian John, sensing William’s absence, awoke early to bring him back before the fifth day of the eleventh month.
By giving up his vision and breaking the spell of Sebastian’s mesmerizing eyes, William has now bought himself enough time to recall his past lives and answer why he must sacrifice himself to Sebastian John for the twenty-first time.
